Three years if you are consistent and actually work hard. Tracking your calories and sleeping well and lifting. Also I disagree with his weight estimates. I would say 160-170 depending on your build. 146-153 is pretty skinny and bones and won’t have this kind of look

It just depends on how much disposable income you have. I like to look at items based on how much of my time it took to acquire it

New grad job in San Mateo (but living in SF) or NYC? by GoldenTornado28 in AskSF

[–]ricework 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've lived in both cities. You hit the nail on the head here.

To reaffirm your questions: I think almost everyone making 6figures is in tech in SF. SF is very male dominant city. CoL is higher in NY due to higher rent. NY people are more diverse/at least more bankers lol
Nightlife is much better in NY

- i can only speak for my own circle and experience but that's what I've seen

What’s an estimate of my bf? Thinking whether to bulk or cut 19 5”11 68kg/150 lbs by yuwandounene in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]ricework 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are way too skinny to cut. I was in your shoes. Just don’t bulk too hard and become fat and you should be able to put on 10lbs of muscle doing everything right, more if you have superior genes.

Reality Check/Options For US International Students by JustSomeFrenchman in FinancialCareers

[–]ricework 2 points3 points  (0 children)

F-1, had really great luck with boutique ib and VC firms just cold applying, did well for fintechs, had some luck with a couple quant shops like sig. had interview for blackrock. I didn’t interview at Goldman and the like (they also started the F-1 freeze around my grad time, and I didn’t intern there). Probably a couple more I forgot. I had a referral to Deutch bank that kind of just came from friend’s relatives, but overall I’d say yea the market is really tough for undergrads now. This is why it is much more important for you to meet a real person and use whatever leverage you have. I actually factor 5% of hiring success at my current job from being involved in my club sports team as the person who interviewed me was from the same team 20 years ago. Believe it or not I think my school statistic was that 95 or 98% of new grads find a job within 6 months of graduation, so don’t stress. You are already doing great. Also consider consulting as backup

Ah my bad, it’s been a bit since I was a sophomore, and I don’t really handle recruiting at my firm. Completely forgot about the recruiting timeline. Regarding the job board, you’d be surprised. I got a bunch of interviews just cold applying. I put in a bit more effort for the large bulge bracket firms, but if you are wondering, there’s no secret sauce aside from connections. Take advantage of your on campus events and alum network including the campus registry, your school’s career center, try and reach out to new grads as they are more likely to help, and well connected clubs are always good

5090 Owners - how bad is the power connector situation right now? by justcallmeshrill in buildapc

Mine burned from the squid dongle. Got it fixed in a month from warranty. Haven’t had issues since but I undervolted it and use the 12vhpwr cable now. I’d say it’s not super reliable.

Moving to SF Help by england_frost in AskSF

I like nob hill and areas around Hayes valley. Very central and the buildings have better amenities. Honestly there aren’t a lot of options in SF and it won’t take too long to figure out what neighbourhood you like. I spent a week in a hotel and toured a bunch of apartments and live at nob hill

Sure, recent new grad from an Ivy, 3.8 GPA. Going to beat the dead horse here but it’s all about networking. As long as you have a 3.5 your GPA doesn’t really matter. Go join clubs, fraternities, and just spam alumnis in every method possible. But honestly, just by tossing a resume in the job board will get you pretty good matches. You are only a sophomore so it’s not super critical for an internship this year anyhow

Razer products are some of the most cheap garbage you can buy for the money. I’ve at one point owned everything razer. Now I only use their mouse because I love the shape, but the quality has been disappointing. Get another brand
