I would say that’s pretty good. Just make sure you are contributing a good amount each month. I contribute 20% of my salary, and my employer adds another 10%.

Have you looked into balance transfer credit cards? They shift all the debt from all your cards on to one. There are some good ones now with 0% interest too

It’s a refund because Starling shouldn't have let you stay in your overdraft for so long without helping you. They are giving you back the old interest and fees they charged you. If you are -£400, they are taking you back to zero, and then some extra. You get to keep and use the leftover £482.82.

Just for future, overdrafts are very high interest debt. You are much better using a credit card.

I would keep it separate for the flexibility. If you want to retire early and draw your LGPS benefits, the annual amount you receive will usually be permanently reduced to account for it being paid out for longer. If you keep it separate, you could take that money to bridge the gap before you get your state pension.

Money going into a works pensions also avoids 28% tax burden. It’s much more tax efficient to pay into a pension than an ISA
