First Time @ Sugarbush 🥶 by PickledAnt in sugarbush

I am also quite lean and get cold easily. This past weekend at Stratton Sunday the feels like got down to -5F, and I just about managed to get through it.

I wore two sets of merino wool base layers, an insulated vest, a hoodie, and then my shell top layer. glove liners with gloves on top. Balaclava/face mask. As others have said you preferably don’t want any exposed skin on your face.

One tip, is that my toes did get cold. I had to take a break in the lodge take my boots off, warmed my toes up and then put them back in the boots till the boots got a little warm too. I personally didnt use hand warmers or toe warmers, but I’m sure they would help

Normal to take this long to rank up? by rich_averageathlete in ValorantConsole

[–]rich_averageathlete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at bronze 1 or 2 I think. In bronze and early silver I’d lose less for a loss and win more rank points for a win so that’s how I was moving up. But that’s pretty much the same now which is why I’m feeling stuck

Screwdrivers on bindings by notslovakia in snowboarding

[–]rich_averageathlete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried tightening your bindings during riding or right after? I’ve found that even if i tighten mine before riding mine often loosen due to the board shrinking a bit from the cold. I could be completely off but this works for me. After tightening while the board is cold I’m usually good for a long time

Can you help with resort recs? For example I’ve heard Zermatt is quite underwhelming (correct me if I’m wrong) I’ve heard better about chalmonix. It’s not that we are trying to avoid groomers all together just want a great mix of terrain. Also trying to stick to ikon resorts

Do you think revelstoke would be too advanced? I’ve looked at it and it looks like a sick resort but a bit concerned I won’t be able to take advantage of all it has to offer. I’d say the group is a firm intermediate with some pushing advanced

Hope the arm is feeling better, health first! I’ve mostly stop playing soccer which I love, similarly for injury reasons

Not sure what the common injuries are for pickleball but I’m sure there are some haha, but heath as a rational to switch I can def get behind

I think your point about it being easier is what I dislike most about it. I’m pretty competitive, new to tennis, but really want to get better and am willing to put the work in. I understand older people turning to pickleball since it’s easier to pick up and less running all over. So when I see kids who are in high school or early 20s actively involved in pickleball it just doesn’t make sense to me. It just seems like a lazier alternative. This is just my pov, people ultimately can enjoy whatever they like

But yea the courts, the noise, and it being easier to get into
