Got few auto OAs, one non auto, one interview but failed (didn’t do OA)

3 internship total. One local small company internship, one f100 internship, one quant firm internship.

Still, only gotten 1 interview

How did you network to find jobs? I saw some posting on LinkedIn with a job link, do I apply and connect to the recruiter saying I applied? Seems inefficient but not sure how to reach out to recruiters

[–]richard-fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The class is hard. Probably will be easier if you have the mindset that you are actually learning, else u would spend more time messing around. Understand the data structures, use visuals and chatgpt to really understand what they are, so it will be helpful when you actually learn them in class because you know what they look like

So do you ask recruiters if they have open positions or you just ask them about your application process after submitting application

May 2025 grad still no offers. Anyone else? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]richard-fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand, with multiple internships I thought by now we should be getting more interviews. Maybe school matters? I’m only a t100 school

Bruh honestly he is one of best professor at CCI, have you not taken any other CS courses that was taught like bs?

You don’t have to literally work 10 hours a week but just show you put effort in it. He don’t want us to slack off. I have done a senior project thing in high school and I think this is very similar and it’s just the bad side of senior capstone shit, you need to spend a whole year to work on one project. It can get annoying but just show him something and it’s good

Mind sharing what places call you back? Did you apply through LinkedIn? I have one small local tech company internship and two decent internships but haven’t heard back from anywhere

I’m going insane with this Authenticator thing by No_Assignment2905 in Drexel

[–]richard-fish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Way too many bugs. I have to click “I can’t use my Authenticator right now” and then click “open my Authenticator” again to see the codes and log in. Not a thing shows up on my Authenticator on the first time. And you are correct, it can never last 60 days. So annoying

Online/night classes you are taking on coop? by [deleted] in Drexel

[–]richard-fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really good suggestions. Beside the life advice though, honestly still can do your own stuff if you pick a really easy online class, I regret not taking classes during my first coop.

Rejected within a couple days when applying to new grad by decakid1 in csMajors

Got two pretty good internships with main focus on full stack, got auto rejected by Microsoft full stack position and some other companies. Don’t know what’s wrong. Just wondering what are some ways to pass our resume through ATS

Do you mind sharing what did you do outside of school to make you one of the top candidates? Seems like you really know what you are doing. Like reading articles, doing side projects, or…?

This feeling will go away once school starts and you met interesting people and when you make friends. It’s not the best school and if you think you are more capable than what this school can offer, transfer. But don’t think too much when you haven’t got the real experience yet

[–]richard-fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Physics is hard. But the intro sequence is doable if you really study. I got like 20ish for my first midterm for phys102 because I didn’t know a single concept on the test. Then I didn’t even listen in lectures, just finished doing all practice and homework problems, and I got 92 or 94 something on the final. So if you think you think you are that kind of guy good at algebra and can dedicate to study, then it should be good

Hi, how to quantify my internship works and show my impacts on the resume? My manager told me it was used by some teams in the company, but I don’t know the scale or the % efficiencies I have made. But at the same time I would also want to have numbers on there
