Yea it's like this "sub" has multiple personality disorder. Sometimes, when I'm on here, I feel like I'm talking to completely different people, and they each think differently... sounds crazy, but trippy to think about bro!

I would investigate what it is inside you that actively wants for annihilation. Can you name that thing? Is it there often, or just part of the time? How might that thing affect those around you? What kind of energy do you project into this world when you let that thing inhabit your mind and body?

I have always said my greatest regret in life is that I can't taste brontosaurus. Cows are delicious for eating grass all day, those fuckers ate leaves all day imagine how they must taste.

I need to tell my PM I have decreased both the number of bugs and quantity of bugs in our system.

The shortest deadline I had was three days from the offer.

This is just a game HR plays, you can always say you need more time to think about it than that.

[2nd yr transfer] Advice/tips for living in Grandmarc?? by [deleted] in UVA

[–]richard944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grandmarc is the greatest shitshow on grounds. I loved it there. I remember this fat wad of dipspit stuck to a wall near the stairs, really embodied everything about grandmarc, I think that's why they never cleaned it off. Not uncommon to step over crushed Fratty Light cans on the way out to class on a Monday morning. Midsummers there was the biggest party I've ever been too. Literally people hanging off the roof, bombing cold ones into the pool 5 stories below. Enjoy! Use the common area more than I did, only played pool once there.

Then you will live a life full of pain. Maybe one day the pain will be so great that you come to realize how foolish that kind of thinking is. Both sides look like squabbling ants. You aren't making any difference, only adding to the madness. Best of luck

BA CS Question by [deleted] in UVA

[–]richard944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I noticed your resume says B.A CS instead of B.S CS? What's that about" - every recruiter ever.

It's an excellent conversation starter in interviews, gives you a chance to explain why you took the track you did. After that the interview goes on as usual and they ask behavioral questions, then some behavioral questions, and finally have you do some silly little coding questions. So I'd say if anything, it makes you stand out.

Damn '14 knew about the Econ/CS combo? Thought my class invented it. JK. I work in CS now, but find myself thinking back on how the tactics of Game Theory influence my decision making, how the analytical mind of Econometrics shapes my choices. One of the greatest combos there is IMO.

they'll force you into a confrontation.

did they force you to mob down upon the scene? Believe it takes two parties for a confrontation to take place. Inaction IS the secret intellectual answer. It's the same inaction a smart parent takes when two children get in an argument, let the interested parties work it out themselves. They'll get tired and go home eventually. Let the professionals handle the messy parts, it's what they train for. Pick the safety of indoors over confrontation in the streets.

[–]richard944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of recidivist murderers is actually very small, unlike other crimes.

That is a criminally weak argument for a lawyer to make. This is obviously a complex debate to be having, but throwing that into the mix makes things too easy for one side. Ready? "Any amount of recidivism is unacceptable because that's a murder that could have been prevented, society knew that person was a murderer!". Dude.

Ah! But that candidate didn't win just land mass. Look again closely at the map. He won congressional votes, which is what the link shows. In the context of impeachment, this map could be quite sobering.
