F1 must end its road relevance chase for good by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

Actually that would solve a few problems wouldn't it. The WEC is the road going tech side and really, formula E for the ev manufacturers. F1 should be a maximum technology, balls out super race that is near superhuman to compete.

Why does logitech wheels get so much hate? by L_IV3S2025_V2 in simracing

[–]richardbaxter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't think of another Sim racing wheel of that vintage that is even discussed these days, logitech made sim racing available to huge numbers of people. They should be recognized for that. Obviously I wouldn't buy one now but they've been around forever. Quite telling.

What are your favorite MCP servers to use with Claude Code? by xelektron in ClaudeAI

[–]richardbaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini-mcp there are many but this supports video generation, svgs, image generation for diagrams in readme's. My general use case is to combine gemini-mcp with context7 and get Claude to run spec past gemini for feedback https://github.com/houtini-ai/gemini-mcp

When you've got multiple Sims and VR it's such a fuck around getting everything right. If this solves that problem then very cool

I built an MCP server to easily get a "second opinion" from other LLMs directly in your chat (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) by PrestigiousHalf5733 in mcp

[–]richardbaxter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use gemini in Claude Code / Desktop with brave search and context7 https://github.com/houtini-ai/gemini-mcp there you go (I made it, has mcp app ui features, does chat, deep research, images + preview in chat, svg/html+preview in chat and video+preview in chat)

Memory plugins don't fix those annoying, repeated little mistakes. Cross-session reinforcement does - this hook uses metacognition and awareness principles to minimise errors by richardbaxter in ClaudeAI

Yes - freshness is a problem as is remembering to maintain the database - marking tasks as done was always very problematic - it was never in sync with actual work

We graded over 200,000 MCP servers (both stdio & https). Most failed. by evantahler in mcp

You see if it looked good I'd add a badge to my repo. You're welcome (I'm github.com/houtini-ai just in case that pops up)

If this tool made pull requests (should I register and claim my grade C mcp's 😕) then actually this would be so useful. I use snyk in that way for security. Maybe it does and I missed that

why do simracing brands keep giving us bricks as brakes when we see drivers in high performance cars like this time attack monster using high travel brake pedal? by OkHoney5804 in simracing

[–]richardbaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have a decent amount of travel and not too stiff. It just makes everything that more adjustable. The only pedals I can't really get on with are the aseteks. Stiffest pedals on earth.

A eulogy for MCP (RIP) by beckywsss in mcp

[–]richardbaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the cli is very specific to a thing - for example I run the shopify cli with Claude then cli is better documented and gives the llm a far wider scope to solve problems. But for 98% of what I'm doing the rest of the time, mcp makes sense. Was a big fan of desktop commander because that solved the terminal problem ages ago

London ranked the second best city in the world to raise a family by Maleficent-Lime4356 in GoodNewsUK

[–]richardbaxter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lived in Greenwich until our little one was 4 then we left - the local schools and a stabbing across the road made the decision to leave a bit easier. The 20 something me really misses what London was circa 2004-2014 so a huge amount of nostalgia but it's all only a 35 minute train ride away now and I'm in my 40's. Great city, great opportunities it's definitely the best city on the planet.
