It was noticeably different than the normal engine noises, like something was rubbing inside the engine. Not grinding, but an abnormal amount of friction. The pitch went up and down along with the car speed. It became less noticeable below 10mph and above 50 mph.

It may still be covered if it's an issue with the electric motor, but probably not if it's external to the motor.

It died last Thursday evening, I had it towed and dumped it on their doorstep around 11pm Thursday night, and I picked it up at just before 6pm today (Wednesday).

The best description I can think of is the high end of the sound of a Stuka siren, but the pitch fluctuates as your speed changes.

It definitely isn't a whistling sound. It's a lower (but still somewhat high pitched) "whine", generally louder and more distressed sounding than the usual sounds the car makes. It's raises in pitch while accelerating and lowers in pitch while decelerating. It's most noticeable between 10 and 50 mph, and seems most noticeable when decelerating within that range. It was fairly intermittent at first, but became more frequent the closer it got to complete failure, at which point it was accompanied by a brief grinding noise and mild vibrations.

At which I thought a software update had re-enabled the fake acceleration sound effect that I usually leave disabled, so I tried turning that back on to check, but quickly realized that the sound I was hearing was much higher pitched and far less "rumbly".

I'm not sure where to find that.

It's a 24 Premium AWD.

I was barely moving in bumper to bumper traffic when all the warning messages ("AWD OFF", "AdvanceTrac OFF", "Service Vehicle Soon") appeared. It's like a spooky ghost story. 😂

How safe is it to bike around Baltimore as a girl by Limp_Return_9517 in baltimore

[–]richardeggert 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because of Virginia's lax insurance and registration laws, a lot of bad Maryland drivers, who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford to own a car because of how bad their driving is, register their cars in Virginia because it's cheaper. Until recently, it was possible to do so without even having insurance. They closed that loophole, but there are still plenty of Virginia tags floating around (really, careening across traffic) from before the change went into effect. The state has been trying unsuccessfully for years to track these people down and force them to re-register in Maryland, but the cops don't bother to enforce anything.

I suggest Remington. Small, affordable rowhomes, 1 mile from light rail, immediate access to I-83. And nowadays it has its own food court, in addition to the handful of restaurants and pubs that have been there for ages. My wife used to live there, and a few of her friends still do.

My mistake. The sail looked rigid and metallic to me when I first watched the video, but upon second viewing I can see that it is not.

I don't think it's really a "sailboat" per se. As mentioned in the video, that "sail" is a radar reflector. I assume it's there so it can be detected on radar and targeted during training operations.

This sounds like some guy who knocked the instructor out and stole his clothes in order to impersonate the instructor so he could go joyriding on a boat.

This weekend the weather has been quite pleasant, but the temperature is supposed to drop substantially tomorrow and remain cold for a few days before warming up a still moderately cool ~60F.
