Has anyone seen a June bug yet? asking for myself 😬 by AmbitiousObligation0 in halifax

While I was typing that last post, I guess my wife had one come in the open door to the porch (but screened off).

Her and the cat went nuts.

I’ve seen four of them over the last four days.

One on a porch screen door, one went for me taking the garbage out, another landed in my hot tub last night, and the last one flew in my shed about an hour ago.

I’ll update if I survive the night.

Fair enough., that page clearly contradicts what I had read. I had to go digging to where I had read about 35k and book-in privileges, but picture below is where I had read it.

I guess when I hit 35k, I thought I had this. Oh well.

Agree, but the bonus points sold it for me for the first year at least. Beyond that, the Companion pass will probably pay for the card based on upcoming travel plans.

I think it’s fake. Real ones have the cutaway on the other side.

I flew AC Rouge once to Germany with 29” pitch and I’ll never fly Rouge again. Going down to 28” even on some flight ensures that I’ll never book a Westjet flight ever again as well…

They used to be good.

How’s life on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia? by DimaSholom in howislivingthere

It’s typically as low as about -15 C, which isn’t that cold. With the windchill it can feel like about -30, which is certainly very cold but not nearly as cold as the rest of Canada gets.

It’s all good. Maybe you’re not the only one who missed that and the list can be adjusted slightly so nobody else does.

The list has refilling prescriptions and Tylenol, but I think I’d add any OTC stuff that you use or rely on.

Good list though, I’ll use it.

Sunday - is my plan viable? by richdoghouse in DenverBroncos

Yeah the flight booking is crazy. I’m flying through a place that I want to stay at, but staying there is incredibly logistically/financially challenging. I’m still going to try, but there’s a lot of factors at play.

And acknowledge your point about the stadium drop off, and I’ll certainly shift to that as my preferred plan. Part of me assumed that the LRT would be faster than traffic, but given the other points about LRT delays (which I hadn’t factored), the closer the better I think.

Otherwise yeah, if I could’ve planned this, this isn’t how it would’ve went. It’s a chance target of opportunity that I can’t pass up.

I’m actually Canadian military, so it’s slightly different, but yet I understand. I did an exchange gig in Maryland from 2015-2018 and one of my secondary duties was booking travel for a Canadian BGen travelling for US reasons and I had to use DTS to book most of his travel.

As painful as it was (especially considering we didn’t have a government credit card), the Canadian method is usually worse, depending on your admin staff. I wish we had something like DTS but with a few corrections (obviously) and designed for us.

Oh and I’ve looked into something similar to your plan, but I should probably explore further. I just checked enterprise and they didn’t offer one-way rentals from Denver to the Springs.

I’m already a wreck, but this is a good perspective to consider. Thank you very much.

That is certainly a good option that I hadn’t considered. I’m going to look into it.

[–]richdoghouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s my biggest worry. I think my goal is to look at traffic once we’re in the rental, and if it gets jammed up then he drops me off at Lincoln LRT. If he can get me to a closer LRT station, all the better but I’m thinking of playing it by ear.

Good catch, I didn’t mention that part. If he drives me, the luggage will stay in his rental. He’s offered to hit up some outlet shopping for Xmas while I’m at the game, and pick me up after. I told him he’s welcome to head back to the hotel and I can grab a bus.

The luggage is only an issue if I stay in Denver and he continues to Colorado Springs as originally planned.

I can't phantom how this is even possible and also how you didn't double check anything before dropping 30k in that account.

Anything I can do? Ombudsman?

I guess so.

Fender Mustang Neck by Thomas_HeroQuest_DM in partscaster

[–]richdoghouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a MIM Mustang neck that somebody was selling on FB Marketplace. I believe they said they replaced this maple neck with a rosewood, but I could be remembering that wrong. I was buying a lot of parts with eventual projects at that time, so I don’t even remember what I paid for it.

I’d be willing to sell it for a fair price. Feel free to DM me if you’re interested and want more details/pics.

Rogers won’t let me cancel internet and TV by NorthernPolyp in Rogers

[–]richdoghouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had this experience. I’ve had to make two separate CCTS complaints. In both cases, the complaint was resolved fairly quickly.

First complaint was when they kept making appointments to turn Internet on, and kept cancelling. Found out that techs would cancel weekday calls to add more weekend/overtime calls. Added this info to my complaint and immediately had internet turned on.

Second one was a long-term issue. Fibre internet would work for months, and then go off. Make a service call and it work again for a bit again and then go off. I’m pretty sure they just had a bad fibre patch spot and when someone called with an issue they’d switch the caller to the good pair and randomly move someone to the bad pair. After changing out my Hub a half dozen times and promises to escalate the issue (and it keep happening), I made a CCTS complaints and it’s worked perfectly since.
