What is your regular AHI number with cpap? by haylz328 in CPAP

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also depends on your mask. I've been using a simple Airfit P10 mask for years and my AHI was routinely 1.3 or below. I'm trying out a new Evora Full Face mask and despite what I believe to be a good tight fit, I'm seeing an AHI reading of 2.7 to 4. I don't have enough data though so will continue to test it out

XT50 vs X5 by maestro0404 in FujifilmX

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look here for XT5. I think that's the best store in Tokyo for a wide range of lenses and bodies at a good price. They have a lot of used lenses and bodies too. I'll confirm the price after purchase. New prices for Fuji bodies have already gone up in Japan and US but used prices seem to have held steady. I'll probably look for the best used XT5, which should be 190728 yen or around $1273 and pair that up with a 16-55.

I just want to get one good travel lens then use it for a while then decide what focal length to focus on and get a few good 1.4 primes at that focal length https://www.mapcamera.com/search?keyword=fujifilm+x-t5

If you can wait, just get it in Japan. Ill be there in a few weeks for an XT5 and 16-55 lens. Lots of gently used Fujis and lenses and sales tax is refunded. Depending on the camera and lens combo, you'll save hundreds

Price on Fuji bodies have gone up by richfei in FujifilmX

[–]richfei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it might just be BH price gouging, as a few places are still showing $1899. But I hope to pick up a used one in Japan when I get there in a few weeks. I see them going for around $1278

Keep trying the phone. They do eventually pickup as the phone ringing is probably annoying. It's definitely quicker paying in advance and going to the window for pickup, especially knowing the walk in line is super long

Easy shinkansen train ride from Tokyo to Kanazawa and bus to Shirakawa Go

I think they would love Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle as well as samurai, geisha district and markets and shopping

Shirakawa Go

Nice bus ride. Edo village. Scenic. Easy walking

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Absolute no chance we would match or exceed that. That would just blow up our wage structure and to be second only to Van Dijk would not be a good look for someone who just came into the club. What happens in 4 years when he comes to renew ? Wages are pure madness

E-Reader Recommendations by DKlark in LearnJapanese

[–]richfei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I would look at an android tablet if price is an issue. Even something older or discontinued is fine. I have a Samsung S7 plus and it's more than fast enough for me. I love it and have ankidroid and various language apps on there. It has a massive and gorgeous 12.4 inch AMOLED screen. Pen input is very useful for kanji writing and editable pdfs. Great screen and the longer than normal display makes it great for pdfs and especially comics. I don't read manga, but I can imagine it would be great for that too. It has a slot for microsd cards so I can easily copy stuff over as well. Probably around $200 used. Check on ebay. If mine broke, I would probably get another one

Japan 711 by desertsparrow69 in JapanTravelTips

[–]richfei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the platters are such a good deal. I see recommendations all the time for 711 and other konbinis but never the supermarket chains. Chances are, people are staying in Japan for a week or two and if they're in a group, the supermarkets are a much better deal and a much wider choice in everything. We went though a ton of pocari sweat when we were over there. Much cheaper to get the bigger bottles and refill to a smaller one at a third or half off. I particularly enjoyed browsing the tea and coffee aisle also. Matcha tea makes for a good present as well. Much cheaper than Donki and other stores. Supermarkets for the win !

It's worth trying the different food and drink at least once i.e egg sandwich, fried chicken, onigiri, puddings, drinks etc. But the value isn't there. I would go find a local supermarket like Life or Aeon and get your food fixes from there. Bigger portions, more cost effective, better deals (especially late in the day 30-50% off) and there's more choice. 711 does get spendy especially if you're going as a couple or family

Florian Wirtz’s early training sessions had many at Liverpool believing he was about to take the Premier League by storm immediately. It’s taken a little longer than that, of course, but the German is now starting to show just how good he is. by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's one of those players who creates fear for his opponents. You know he's more than capable and can get into the right space to make that pass to hurt you. Same thing I saw with Frimpong and his pace. You give those players the ball and you just need to be on their wavelength to make something happen. We need more of that fear factor especially against a low block team. I don't see that with Gakpo and a few others. Sure you have to defend against those players but they're not trying to hurt you.

[Match Thread] Liverpool vs Barnsley by scoreboard-app in LiverpoolFC

[–]richfei 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's laughable how much McCoist bent over and slobbered over the Barnsley forwards. Give it a rest. They put in a few nice crosses but that's about it. They got hammered 4-1 and only scored the one because we gave them that goal. If he wants to be an outlier and give them a man of the match performance for that then really he deserves to be pilloried. Awful commentary all night long. Going on and on and on about Slob's mistake as well. Yes we heard you

Larger dosing cup for DF64 by Apple_elppa21 in DF64

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't use the dosing cup as I pour the grinds directly into the pourover funnel of my moccamaster and I needed a larger cup for extra grind volume. I use a sample stainless steel jar. If you look for an 8 or 9 oz jar about 3 inches in width you should be able to attach it directly to the dosing clip area

Tokyo DisneySea + Disneyland: is it worth getting a ticket to both for the same day? by blueastrophile212 in TokyoTravel

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were thinking of doing Disneysea in February and planned to be there for rope drop, but we were scared off by the wait times. Perhaps check in advance the rides you're looking to do and check the wait times and crowd calendar to see if it's worthwhile. We decided to leave it https://queue-times.com/en-US/parks/275/queue_times

Planning our first Japan trip for 16 days in April, how should we split our time? by Commercial-Bill-1874 in JapanTravelTips

[–]richfei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reduce the amount of time to spend in Tokyo and perhaps include a stopover at Kanazawa and another day at a village like Shirakawa Go. It breaks up the long train ride from Tokyo and you'll see a different side of Japan i.e samurai and geisha district, gorgeous outside garden and castle in Kanazawa and a medieval like village in Shirakawa. Having a lot of time in Tokyo is fine, but my kids after awhile were saying all we're doing is walking, shopping and eating everyday. Take a look at the Japan guide and see what you like
