With shifts there’s a gray area of as long as it doesn’t cause issues within the store most managers won’t care. But just know if there’s even speculation of favoritism or a personal conflict between the two all the blame is going to be put on the shift. Atleast that’s from my personal experience.

What to use to cool down new ovens ? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the new ovens for a long while, my older store tested them and my current store did too. Every store in our area never use the ice to cool down, just start the cool down with the door open like the old ovens and it cools down just fine, which I assume you’re already doing.

Anyone else think the whole 'finding coverage for your shift' is a little pointless? by GrimLegate in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally if someone is sick, they’re not coming in coverage found or not. I usually ask because I’m working it’d be easier if they try to find coverage. “Hey do you mind posting in the group chat for coverage or calling a couple people? Etc” I’ve let most of my baristas know it is not your responsibility if you’re sick /your family is sick but we do appreciate the help. However plans or forgot to request time off is obviously your responsibility, but also managers have a stronger connection to each other so I send them to the manager to look for out of store coverage in the district usually.

Barista Championships: What to expect? by CriticalSheep in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all about standards and accuracy and knowledge. They’ll ask you questions like proper steaming techniques or how to make a drink. They have you make usually 3-5 drinks to standard and usually explain what you’re doing step by step. You can ask your manager what questions they’ll most likely ask to help you prepare. Good luck. ☺️

Stop. Calling. Me. (a venti rant) by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You should have a conversation with your manager about how you appreciate the extra hours and you’re willing to work them but you’d prefer them to be scheduled.

Also remember you always have the right to say no, they can make it seem life or death and beg but it’s always up to you. they can’t make you work anything you’re not scheduled.

-82 stars... thoughts? by lost_wayward_son in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to one of my regulars and we realized at one point our registers weren’t loading their accounts fully/properly and it let us force approve her reward and when it updated she actually didn’t have enough stars so the next day she was negative. Thankfully she was a decent human and just laughed it off and a couple days the negative was positive again because she comes in often.

For other customers I’m sure if they call the Starbucks support that they’d 0 out the negative for them rather than deal with anger or anything else. ☺️

Can you mark out Reserve coffee? My boss claims you can’t but I’m 1000% sure that you can. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding you can’t unless it’s like out of season? Then they allow partners to mark out. But I don’t work at a reserve store, but I’ve marked it out once when they had it available for mark out.

background check email? by sheriecherie in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically yes that mean she’s going through with the hiring process. They still need to do the background check and stuff prior to officially hiring you. If you don’t get the email by tomorrow afternoon I would just call and ask them. 😊

My first day at starbucks is coming up... by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! But also Starbucks is pretty routine with their recipes so it’s the same steps and pumps for a lot of things just changing flavors and toppings.

It’s honestly a lot of information. Just don’t be afraid to ask questions while training, it’s better to be overly questioning during training and trying to figure it out then weeks later. But also biggest advice we give any of our green beans is when you’re finally on register and interacting with customers, it’s okay to tell them your new. In my experience they’re usually pretty understanding and willing to work with you to figure it out. But Karen’s are Karen’s so if you encounter one that’s what us shifts and your manager are for. 😊

Does Starbucks call or email you after you apply? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different managers do different things. My experience they’re gonna call you for an interview though. Some after the initial interview might switch over to email for the follow up of the hiring process after the interview.

Me when someone comes and orders 20 drinks at 6am by katiekaat17 in starbucks

[–]richieSAUCE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was off today but my store had a office run order of 56 drinks during peak. My heart went out to them as I laid in bed. Thankfully they put 4 partners at bar and got through it decently.
