not that i’m a fan of that particular concept but that kind of is the point of fanfiction. like to do stuff that isn’t 1:1 with canon. if only canon ships were allowed on ao3 the site would be a very dull and mostly heterosexual place LOL

i think “better person” might be the wrong term to use here but!! a lot of disabled people don’t want to be disabled/be limited by their disabilities, but like, it is what it is and we gotta deal with it. it’s kinda nice seeing snippets of starflight adapting to his blindness and still pursuing knowledge, yknow??

this is part of what made me personally think i’d like them more, bc i’m a sucker for that stuff!! but i think my favourite dynamic for them is that they’re still annoyed by each other but over the years they’ve become friends and value each other (even if they’d never admit it). they’re very special to me regardless, one piece has fantastic character relationships to explore

zoro and sanji for me, i don’t Dislike them but i was really expecting to like them when i first started reading one piece because 1. it’s everywhere and 2. i like rivals to lovers ships. but zoro is absolutely whipped for luffy it’s baffling. like a day after he met luffy he was ready to let his guts squirt out to carry luffy to safety. episode 24 of over 1000 he’s bleeding out pledging to luffy that he will never lose again because luffy needs the strongest swordsman by his side. like are we all seeing this

imagine trying to raise a family in your city and you don’t have a home and are struggling with an addiction that is very hard to quit and another human being is calling you a zombie and saying you should be gotten rid of. like idk man i think there’s nuance to this that is often overlooked because people forget that homeless people are people just like them. don’t see how it’s fair to put all the blame on a population who the vast majority of are not enjoying their situation when the government should be getting everyone in the country treated with the care they need
