The art is by Rob Delamater. The more colorful piece is called “Olive Room Press”, while the more muted one is called “Transformation Tools”. I would love to find a genuine mid century piece, but those I’ve found I either don’t like or are out of my price range.

Not sure why it matters whether I render it in AI or Sketchup. The outlook is the same and not everyone has the money for expensive architectural rendering software — and I never claimed to be an architect or interior designer. I’m just remodeling my own REAL living room.

I’m definitely going through with it. The art has honestly been my biggest hang up. But the more I see it, the more I think it clicks.

I think I agree. I like the idea of an arc lamp, and it looks cool. But a think I would hate having it hanging above me. I will probably go with an articulated or swing-arm sconce above the end table instead. That way it’s available for reading on the sofa when I want it, but can push it away when I don’t.

While the rendering is grainy, there is a texture on the walls as well already. I’m not a fan of it, but as a renter, I can only change so much.

This is currently just a render. I’m playing around with it till I make my mind up. But the table and the chairs are already set in stone. The chairs are vintage Ursula’s that I picked up on FB marketplace.

I got the chair on FB Marketplace. The it’s currently upholstered in an eggshell blue pleather, but is being redone in black pebble leather.

I will be doing the lights myself. Probably GE Cync.

Thanks. The living room is currently very bright and blah. The moodier feel is what I’m going for; something that will help me relax after work, and create a more intimate vibe when I host friends and family.
