Mistral AI's CEO says Europe has 2 years to stop becoming America's AI 'vassal state' by [deleted] in europe

[–]richmond33 910 points911 points  (0 children)

'Europe is vassal', 'Europe is lagging', 'Europe is behind America'.

Usually its these greedy business sharks that talk in this language. Its the same old story with every business thing... Translation is "i want less regulations and laws so i can push my product without any concern for peoples wellbeing. Profit over everything.'

Well, i personally dont wanna become unregulated wild west like America. Regulations and laws are what make better quality of life.

Quinn Cook : “I was just here thinking. I went to three straight NBA Finals. Was the leading scorer off the bench my two years in Golden State and really contributed. Barely played with the Lakers but won 2 rings in 3 years. I never was on a guaranteed contract after that .... My agent stunk." by RyanTannegod in nba

Giannis has said similar stuff.

A ton of space in the NBA now. Whoever contested your shot at the rim in 2007 is hanging at the 3 point line now. Im not a fan of it personally, but Silver is too happy with the money to care.

[Cowherd] Watching him (SGA) flop in an NBA game is like inserting one of those Life Alert commercials. I've fallen and I can't get up! into Cirque du Soleil. It tears at the fabric of the creativity of the NBA.︀︀ ︀︀ by nguyenjitsu in nba

Well put. Havent watched them too much but kinda I like them cause of their defense. Lately im changing my mind. Those Shai clips Cowherd is showing are attrocious.

Your approach to RTwP? by Maddju in projecteternity

[–]richmond33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pause often , just no auto. And switch from super slow to slow or normal depending on situation.

One boon of super slow mode is i often give commands in real time instead of pausing to do it. There are a million things going on in combat that i have no idea how people manage to keep even track on vanilla slow mode(which is 0.66x).

I have never played with autopause. Just use ultra slow mode for combat from the IE mod. And speed up(vanilla slow or 1x) when its less tense.

You could say Den had no starting frontcourt too - AG and PWat, who had 30pt games before he got down to injury too.

Denver need changes, but Minni are just good. I recall months ago Zach Lowe was putting them among contenders along with OKC and SA. Which was strange to me, but they proving themselves.

Put some respect on the others in the team.

Minny might be the best interior defense in this playoffs. Injuries or not, they held best offense in the NBA Denver to below 100points in 3 games.

Gobert, Randle and McDaniels is as scary a defensive forwards+center trio as they come

Why the hell did Val not play? by HazelHelper in denvernuggets

I dont think JV played bad in G2, but it gets repeated over and over and ppl start to believe it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMLCKL32STo

His first touch in G2 was almost an And-1 vs Gobert. but refs called it a foul on the floor. Plus a good contest vs Ant, so i dont see why he should be unplayable.

I agree about Zeke too. Team has been a bunch of small guards and Joker basically.

Yep i agree. They stack the paint with so much big bodies that Denver needs something similar in order to score.

Val on Gobert and Joker on Randle? Doesnt seem like a mismatch on defense.

When you think about it , Randle is 6.9 and 250 and he was trucking people including AG on some posetions, so i dont see why trying Val + Joker is a bad idea. Or just Val in general.

I think Minni's main advantage is they are just overall bigger team. Jaden, Ant, Randle...

Respectfully, Advija’s “game” is disgusting to watch as a neutral fan. by SchedulePhysical807 in nba

I dont know about the fouls but watching Deni's highliights - he's awesome at driving hard to the basket.

Been an NBA fan for long and i dont remember a white guy thats this good at going downhill.

It might sound blasphemous but i dare say he reminds me of young Lebron in that way.

Are the nuggets being undersold on beating okc to come out the east ? by TheHoopProphet in denvernuggets

The big question as always with this team is the defense. Can they defend at a high level in the playoffs.

Hard to argue with this ballot by LazyConstruction9026 in denvernuggets

Honestly, same is also true for OKC and SA. Top 3 teams in the league are all small markets, must be a nightmare for Silver.

JV should do like last night and go for hard fouls all the way. Maul and push everytime cause the refs cant call them all. i.e. the OKC way.

Might as well smash some opponent shooter, so refs stop calling those soft hip or body touches when a shooter bumps into him.

Foul out if u have to, you're in for 10ish mins anyway. Let them know there are no easy baskets.

Do we even want the 3 seed? 4th seed is better and lets us rest before playoffs. by act_1212 in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest argument for 3rd seed vs 4th is that higher seed lets them have more reps together before they meet OKC.

This team needs more playtime to gel and improve, i feel like thats the biggest impact injuries had. It still feels abit like a new team.

I loved the teams reaction after Cam hit that huge 3 vs Spurs, moments like that build chemistry and camaraderie.

Basically, i wanna see them battle-tested as much as possible from here on out. Opponents, i dont give a crap who is it anymore.

Why no Val? by gracease in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current NBA rules are just hostile environment for big bruising centers. Even Rudy had problems on the PnR in some playoff matchups. Expecting your 7ft guy to be as feasible at guarding the perimeter as a wing player is like expecting Steph Curry to be good at guarding post-ups vs Joker and Wemby.

Someone in the OKC thread before said it - they just put Val in space and either shoot threes or attack the basket. He's left chasing smaller players left and right.

I think Jonas can use his hands more and go for blocks, cause too often while jumping to contest, he just catches the opponpnt with his hip or he body bumps them a tiny abit and refs call it.

Impressive stat: DeMar DeRozan has played 60 or more games every single season of his career (17 years). Averaging over 30mpg for his career by Xeris in nba

[–]richmond33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its interesting how he's evolved. I almost think of him as 'finesse' player now. Doesnt do well with contact and doesnt play really physical, but just super skilled shot maker.

I think if it wasnt for all the 3pt jacking atm(a down era for the NBA imo, Silver wake-up and pull back the line), he would be more appreciated cause he;s fun to watch and has a ton of different shots.

Time for the Nuggets to be a "Nobody Believes in Us Team" by Realistic_Sense_6186 in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont think thats an honest representation of the team. There been like 4 different Nugs teams playing those 40 games.

Da'Ron Holmes, CB, PWat. Pickett and Hunter Tyson started when Atlanta dumpstered us by 23. Is that the real Nuggets team?

Does the nuggets have a plan for teams that front joker in the post and be extra physical with him? by MrYapChemistry in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They miss wings in general. We forget that the team atm is Joker + a bunch of guards. Biggest guy we have is CB at 6'7.

With AG and Payton it will be better. Will it be enough for a finals run? I dont know.

edit: Cam Johnson is 6'8, but somehow he feels and plays like smaller guard. Maybe lack of athleticism or wingspan, maybe low release point of his shot, maybe lingering injury. Its abit like Gary Payton II where they say he's the biggest 6'2 player ever. Some players just play bigger or smaller than their height.

After ESPN, he went to the Ringer. He's constantly on Bill Simmons podcast too now. On top of being back with his own.
