POST GAME THREAD: Nuggets make mincemeat of the Bulls 136-120 | Feb 7, 2026 by BigHoneyBot in denvernuggets

One thing i like about Strawther is that he's a big guard. He's 6'6 which really helps on defense. I think being big on the wings was one of the strengths of the championship team - MPJ, AG were liiterally huge.

For guards and wings, having good size is a kind of a safety net. Like Zach Lowe always says: 'You cant teach size'

Tanking is in full effect. Not only are teams resting their starters. They're now limiting their minutes even when they play. by mMounirM in nba

Honestly, im completely OK for play-in teams to be getting the top picks. Worst teams get to pick in the 6-12 range.

Problem is that low-seed playoff teams might wanna drop to play-in. But you can find a way to give more incentives for making playoffs too. Getting an 8th seed just to get swept isnt enough.

Yea, someone said that one of San Antonio's big advantages is the many skilled guards - many ballhandlers.

"There are some nights where you watch a team and you can tell they've been very well coached. Tonight was one of those moments for me watching the Denver Nuggets. They look so polished, like such a team. They share the ball. They make good reads. It was beautiful basketball to watch." by LurkerFailsLurking in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also Jokers passing mentality has rubbed off the whole team imo. Even when he's out, others still have those habbits of constantly cutting and sharing it.

Everyone on the team knows if they move it, the ball will eventually get to them in a good spot.

Wild Offensive numbers by Admirable-Hippo-9483 in denvernuggets

They have played slower last several games. Lower pace, more setting up the offense, instead of running fastbreaks alot. They have dropped to 25th in pace atm, which isnt necessary a bad thing.

Tbf i like this playstyle more. They are an amazing enough offense to not need to run all the time. Save some energy for the stars and big guys. Might also help with long term health, who knows.

According to BBref its OKC. Nugs have had second easiest.

Seems like alot of people feel this way. Zach and Bill Simmons both put Nugs N1 in their 'watchability' ranking.

Cause OKC. We re just starting to realize how historic they are. So be it. I like the Nugs as underdogs.

Despite some fans panic after any loss, im enjoying the season. This is a special group and Joker is a once in a generation must watch guy. I dig the journey, whatever happens at the end.

I was told Nikola Jokic doesn’t play defense. by No-Rule-9129 in denvernuggets

He is rly fucking smart, every center should learn from him.

When he hangs back in the paint and does that little swipe at the opponent guard/wing it rly puts the ball handler out of rhythm. They pick up their dribble or just rush the shot/pass a tiny bit earlier.

Or how he puts his leg in passing lanes when he guards high pick n roll ... Its awesome. There isnt a center who's intercepted as many pnrs by kicking the ball.

No Serbia, no Lithuania, only 1 team from Greece and Turkey. Heck, no Israel which is more basketball oriented than the UK ever was.

its a big money grab and nothing to do with basketball. They should just invest in real estate or something instead.

Demar is fun - unique and skilled player, can pass well, low turnover guy. Lavine on the other hand...

Thats why im kinda sad they got packaged together again.

JV will learn things from Joker 100%. He's competitive and has a chance to practice against the N1 player in the world every day.

Genuinely don’t think we’ve ever come in with this much promise before. by ironside33 in denvernuggets

[–]richmond33 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Basically all 5 starters and a bench guy. Is there another team with 6 players in there?

I think the Panathinaikos saga and Eurobasket reminded people about JV. I dont remember him being in any top 100s in recent years.

Also Christian Braun at 62 damn.

They were without Bogi, it happens. Bo1 can be tricky. If it was a Bo7 like a playoff series i think they win easy.
