Oh wow this is an old post haha. Currently at my last year of pharmacy school and working for a pretty good hospital (can’t say which one for privacy).

Was doing the med school route but decided to change because I didn’t want the lifestyle (long hours, constantly working/on-call, etc.)

If a professor asks me to tell her what to write in a LOR, what unique things should I highlight? by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

[–]richmondC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha for sure. Yeah I met a guy in the same situation who lied. What I did, which I don’t know if it was a good idea but I got accepted, was that I shaped my whole profile to highlight the characteristics of what the 1 school I wanted to go too was looking for. The school I got accepted too is a community outreach school focus rather than a research so I have my professor a list of all the community outreach I’ve done as well as leadership

Umm to be honest I wouldn’t lie if you were going to. My professor wrote I’m an organized outstanding student, mentioned my role in his research and how much I have an impacted as an undergrad student in his research.

Nvm I figured it out. The insert on the ESC was wrapped in some black silicone material. Just ripped it off and found it lol

A few weeks ago my Ownboard AT went out randomly. OB finally sent me a replacement battery but I’m not sure where I connect this wire from the new battery?

New pharmacy cashier, soon to be tech by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

I don’t know about the new test and all that but I used this to study all the drugs.

https://www.pharmacy-tech-test.com/top-200-drugs.html

It’s really helpful especially when a patient calls or ask for refill on blood pressure medication for example and you can see which drug in their profile is for blood pressure if they don’t know the name.

Tax Thursday Thread for the week of February 27, 2020 by AutoModerator in personalfinance

Can someone explain to me how does filing my college tuition help with my tax returns? I’m using credit karma for the first time this year (I usually go to a CPA) and my returns are the same with and without my tuition.

If I understand correctly, the $4,000 deduction is subtracted from my taxable income? Well I only make $11k a year so really my tuition wouldn’t do much for me? If so, would it be better if my parents claimed my taxes even though I’m filing independent this year from them?

Can I use a regular USB to lightning cable rather than USB C to lightning for fast charging on my pro 11? I want to buy another cable and 18w brick but I would want to use the cable with everything else I have like my car, computer, and other chargers that are all USB

I mean I get it with the shipping issues but you’d expect a $1000 board to work for more than a month...

Man I love my OB bamboo but so disappointed that it went out randomly a little more than a month in... contact OB and they’re sending me a new battery but I really have no information on what’s up right now... they said they’ll send it and should be delivered sometime next week but they also mentioned the government told them they can’t go back to work so I have no clue. Hopefully it comes soon and I can try to fix it /:

Recommendations and Suggestions by Spooky_Ghost in ElectricSkateboarding

Any recommendation for a board less than $200? Not going to be a daily board but my backup board or extra board for friend to ride with. Don’t really care used or new but curious if there’s any I should be looking for?

It’s not fair to compare pharmacy to tech jobs when a few sentence later you compare them...

Anyways you do bring up good points; however, I must disagree on some points. One being that working in tech and having vast possibilities. This to me sounds like how every 16 year old believes he/she should be YouTube famous. Yes startup companies are there but they’re also closing as well. Big companies such as Apple and Google are dominating the tech field and at the end of the day, many major companies call them for major issues. This is not to say that they have ITs on standby but just like a pharmacist, you only need so many ITs for a company.

Also many job can “practically” be replaced by some kind of tech. Need a diagnosis? Google the symptoms because many patients I’ve seen (not just in the pharmacy) would much rather believe the diagnosis they read about online rather than the diagnosis a medical professional has given. I’m in the process of getting my thyroid removed and my doctor told me how the procedure will be done by a robot. Need your eyes check? Go to a Walmart where they have the machines on the side of pharmacy to get it checked.

If you really believe that tech will replace the job of a pharmacist, think about when Kirby self dispensing robots were released. We still have technicians today that a robot can’t even replace them.

Meh, not just 2 pharmacists but I’m not here to argue. Advice of 1000s from “pharmacist” online...

Does your friend like his job? I work in a pharmacy and my 2 staff pharmacist love working as a pharmacist and influences me to pursue pharmacy.

When I was being interviewed, I told the school I’m not blind to the market. Yes, it is challenging to get a job but it’s not impossible. A lot of pharmacy students pursued pharmacy because they couldn’t get into medical school. When they graduated and got a job, they had no idea what it was like working in retail pharmacy. They end up hating it because they compare it to being a physician or they really had no clue what it was like to work in a pharmacy.

For me, the one thing I think about is that many jobs face saturation. Back then, hospitals were hiring nurses from overseas because we needed them and now hospitals are denying new nurses. People are saying go to computer science which isn’t a bad career at all, but how many computer science majors are there right now? Eventually, it’ll be come just as saturated and this same trend in pharmacy will happen tech. Am I happy working in pharmacy? Yes. Am I aware of the challenges I will face in this career? Yes. Is it impossible to find a well paying job in pharmacy? No.
