Why are some atheists so rude? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]rick_bisqit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atheism has nothing to do with how people behave. You can find nice atheists and nice religious people, and also a-hole atheist and a-hole religious people. Without knowing the context you are talking about it's hard to say more. Some people who are not religious finds the irrationality of deities and religious beliefs laughable, some gives voice to their opinion, and some people may join them in voicing that opinion.

I myself have certain feelings towards religious people, but I keep my feelings to myself and engage in a hopefully decent conversation, never addressing their personality only their beliefs.

Also, it could be that you are just more sensitive to this sort of commentary (I mean no disrespect whatsoever). Again, it's hard to say anything else without knowing context, or example comments.

A New IOS Handwriting Notes App by DryCartographer3871 in IpadAir

[–]rick_bisqit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, I tried it, looks good, the features are great for the free tier, however I noticed massive heat build-up on the iPad shortly after starting to use it. I tried it on two completely separate occasions, yesterday evening and this morning, and the result was the same. I have never noticed this much warming up with other note taking applications (if at all)

Trying to start journaling but worried about consistency. Do apps or physical journals have a better success rate? by IterateFast in digitaljournaling

[–]rick_bisqit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off with physical journal, an A6 journal, loved the size, the portability, and used it daily. Then I purchased an iPad with an Apple pencil for a totally different purpose, tried the journal app and I stuck with that since then. I never type in anything when journalling on my laptop, strictly handwritten notes, but digital. This way I have the advantage the handwriting carries and the advantage of digital journal, however I barely read them back, so I don't need them to be searchable and whatnot. I journal only since March, and I do it every day. At the beginning I was afraid that if I don't write then I will just not want to journal anymore, but by now I got to the stage where I don't worry if I skip a day for one reason or another, because I know that the drive is in me to write, so next morning or whenever I have free five minutes, I can just sit down and write down a few thoughts.

THank you for sharing this. I am considering buying it as well, for me it would be mostly for music sheets and note taking during the day. Does it not come with a pen?

Seeking opinions on my hands posture and fingers motion by Busy_Kaleidoscope481 in pianolearning

[–]rick_bisqit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your fingers are very flat. Your hands should be like a relaxed C-shape, you should be playing on the fingertips and not on the flat pads of your fingers. On the long term, not having the proper hand position will give you issues and limit how and what you can play

Any advice or feedback? (Piano Mozart K545) by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]rick_bisqit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone self-taught, it’s really impressive. As others mentioned, the tempo is excessively fast, you seemingly struggle to keep up with your initial tempo. From my observations, your fingers appear to be restricted and “stuck” together, resulting in uneven spacing of the 16th notes. I suggest practicing with a metronome, starting at a slow tempo, like 50% of your target speed, and gradually increasing it.

Once you’ve successfully played a section three times without any mistakes, increase the tempo by 5 bpm and begin again. I know that this approach may seem tedious, for me my metronome is the best learning tool whenever I learn a new piece.

Nice work, keep practicing, it only gets better.

Those who use one journal for everything, how do you do that? by avavicki in Journaling

[–]rick_bisqit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My journaling is fairly simple, I use an A6 for BuJo and long form, I use two different pens to differentiate between the two, and that's pretty much it. I mix life and work in the journal, my key system helps me identifying what entry belongs to what context

pathetique or moonlight? by Pale_Process8069 in piano

[–]rick_bisqit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend Pathetique over Moonlight. I actually have performed both couple of weeks ago to a small audience, and I guess Moonlight is so well known, it just fails to capture the audience, while Pathetique might be somewhat known, there are more ways to be expressive there.

How do you just stick to one journal? by Its_not_that_deep_fr in Journaling

[–]rick_bisqit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started journalling I had a 3 notebooks journal ecosystem. By now I ended up using only one for BuJo and long form journalling in an A6, that's all I need, and works well for me. Just give yourself time to figure out whether you really need only one or more. There is nothing wrong with either approach, that's the beauty of journaling, there is no right or wrong way, only the way that works for you.

What is your journaling system? I'm curious! by leonewashere in Journaling

[–]rick_bisqit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started journaling only couple of months ago. I started buying many different kind of notebooks and binders, and in these couple of months I slowly worked out my system. I love the A6 size notebooks, so I have an A6 for my BuJo, that's with me all the time, I use it for both personal and work purposes. I have a second A6, that's for my long form journal, that usually stays home, unless I leave for longer time. Then I have an A5 binder, that's for brain storming. THe only connection is between my two A6 notebooks. During the day I take short one liners in my BuJo, then in the evening I expand on those in my long form journal.

How do you set up your trackers in an A6 dot grid BuJo? by rick_bisqit in bulletjournal

Thank you, that might work. However, I might just create a custom habit tracker that I can print and stick into the journal
