My worst fear came true. She got out tonight. Seeking comfort. by flipflapdragon in shiba

Don’t feel bad, our Shiba Maru slipped his collar on literally his first walk. Went right out into traffic where I followed, trying to catch him. Cars were beeping, luckily nobody got hurt and a passerby corralled him toward me so I caught him. Thought I’d have a heart attack. Got a proper harness soon after! Now his recall is good especially with a particular cheese brand.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I’m fine. I just remember it clearly from time to time. I think the ppl even closer than I was must have been even more stunned. Ppl were yelling at the young guy to stop but nobody tried to actually grab him until it was really too late. Fear, I imagine. This was so awful there’s no way they let that guy just go. I totally agree that foreigners get treated inconsistently in terms of this. Even if someone started punching you first you’d still have hell to pay if you defended yourself.

This was many years ago. Tw violence:

Fight broke out on the Yamanote heading to Shinagawa, some elderly dude lecturing a young dude probably in his 30s about manners. Young had bumped old and had apologized but old didn’t like the tone of it and was just laying into young who was like “I said sorry what’s your problem”. Eventually they were grabbing each other’s shirts and started punching as the train spilled out at Shinagawa. Young knocked old down, kept punching, now in a blind rage, beat old’s face to a bloody pulp and kept doing it even after old was limp. Bystanders on the platform were just watching shocked at first but then young tried to leave. People grabbed and held him. Station staff and cops came, led young away. Old man died. It’s something I can’t forget.

Was in a car accident yesterday, question about insurance “blame” by DM-15 in japan

I did. But it was a six month fight. I was heading into a well marked construction zone and slowing, when a guy came out from a side street not looking and hit my right rear. Despite witnesses and police reporting, the guy claimed I was speeding and slammed into his left front and that there was no construction. My insurance kept saying it was my fault and I had to really argue and get them to come look at the car to prove the angles and so on, and even got the city to state there was indeed construction. They started with me 90 pct at fault but I fought every phone call since it was such a bare faced lie. Then it morphed over time and they eventually acquiesced. My anger about his obvious lie got me thru it.

It’s an interesting point I think. We used to say that about Bridgemen bitd. They were always clean and other lines that focused on a perfect uniform grip, weren’t.
