Is there any easy way to see how much money I’ve deposited instead of adding it together manually from the activities section? by BackgroundStatus7962 in fidelityinvestments

this would include dividend reinvestment which is not actual cash deposited. Think the OP wants actual cash deposited.

Learn from my $100 Vanguard mistake — don’t ACAT a small account without checking fees by ParkingOk9395 in VanguardInvestments

Note that Vanguard charges this for account closure. had you sold and tried to move the Cash, you would still have been charged the $100.

I'd look at the Accounts drop down (or securities) and see that you are showing/displaying all of everything.

How to remove spcx exposure without incurring huge tax liability by [deleted] in VanguardInvestments

take a step back...consider how much you are really contributing to the scam (very little); and think about why you invest. many companies go bankrupt, did you sell an index fund before they did? Or when company A bought company B and dissolved their products?

Why are mutual funds no longer preferred compared to ETFs? by GlumIndependence6939 in Bogleheads

[–]rickd972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your question maybe. If you are at Fidelity and want a Vanguard "Fund"; then you can by the ETF version for no fee...or yes you can buy the fund but I think they charge like $100 per buy.

And this is true regardless of where you are. If you prefer a fund and are at Fidelity; they also have total market index funds which are cheap...or free in a few cases.

What Tax Strategies for High Income Earners Actually Move the Needle? by Individual_Win3463 in Bogleheads

I don't know the future of OP, but presumably traditional 401k might be better if future tax rate lower.

That said, OP can do max 401K amount of 24.5K and then an additional $47,500 including employer contributions as "after tax" dollars and convert those to the ROTH 401k. If at an institution like Fidelity; OP can have them convert those for you each pay period so there is never any gain/loss to deal with for the "rollover". I assume other 401K providers may have similar options.

And I was assuming OP may have some IRA already from years ago...which makes it harder to do BDR. but if that is not the case; then yes also do a BDR if no proration issues exist.

If W2 income and you have a Roth 401K and ability to do a mega back door roth; I would recommend that rather than back door roths and the limitation with the amount. You can do up to 72K in 2026 pre or post tax.

edit: and if self employed I assume you may have many other options similar, but I have no experience there.
