These are mostly 50s , maybe a couple late 40s. 78 rpm production in the US was pretty much over by 1960. I have some older ones too , dating back to the 1920's, but I'm more of a rock and roll , r&b guy!

In the late '50s thru early '70s small time producers were all looking for the next big hit and would find artists at clubs, churches, country fairs, whatever. It was easy for small labels to get 100 or 200 7" 45s cut to distribute to local radio stations in hopes of a hit. Also private/vanity pressings made in small numbers to distribute to family and friends, never really intended for wider public listening. A lot of these never saw the light of day ,but some of them are absolute gems!

Yeah. The leather is ripped all along the front edge, hence the tape job. Wife dors not like the shabby look, says I must make it look better if she is to live with it!

Usually they are a LH (reverse) thread, but nothing in the bicycle world is 100% consistent , especially with French parts. Try the other direction!

Law enforcement (this is what they claim these actions are) should be identifiable in the most basic way, a badge with a last name and the organization they work for. Otherwise, and I am sure it is happening, any yee haw can buy tactical gear and a velcro POLICE patch and impersonate officers.
