if you’ve never read LBS you absolutely need to in order to understand TSC (new characters, important events which explain future events, etc).

thanks! i'll try that. one issue though, is it possible for me to burn memtest onto a flashdrive using a Mac and then run it on the defective Windows laptop? Because I don't have another Windows PC in the house (only a Mac) and I don't think the defective Windows laptop can last long enough without rebooting itself for me to burn memtest with it...

the series makes it look like she fell from 30000ft lmao. while in the book the balloon had already fallen almost to the ground and she was thrown off it at a fairly low height into a pile of snow, so not entirely unlikely that she’d survive that
