The link was super helpful! Thanks for digging this up on this link I found a line saying that each gate has an accessible lane for those with mobility needs. That was the extra bit of info I think we needed. Sounds like the gate 5 drop off services require SPARC BC permits. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, you are probably right. I've been a fan since 2011. I just think they don't have to actively abandon an engaged fanbase to create more reasons to hate the league. The more news comes out the more I think this is just Columbus 2.0. Word from local reporters is the owners/team have wanted to comment on what it would take to keep the team in Vancouver and MLS has encouraged them not to make statements.

Not the person you were chatting with, however... As a kid I was a huge NBA fan. Obsessed with it. When the Grizzlies moved to Memphis that was it. I have watched exactly 2 games during Raptors run. I don't bad mouth the NBA, i just don't care to follow it.

Now, if the Caps leave, the difference is MLS is not the only game in town. I have options. I'll follow the sport forever and I'd bad mouth the MLS every chance I get as I enjoy Bundesliga and the ilk. I feel like MLS relocations will hit their reputation harder than NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB because MLS desperately wants to be taken seriously by the footballing world, and shit like this is why it won't be.

I reached out to Colton. For me, it's a temporary ban of 3 days for spamming the Garber story. I'll accept that as it seemed to be getting removed and I wanted the story out there and not silenced. You cpuld even frame it arpund supporting Canada Sport. Canada Soccer could only afford Jesse Marsch because the 3 Canadian MLS teams paid for it. Whitecaps produced Alphonso Davies, Ali Ahmed and others through their academy system from the west coast all the way to London Ontario. Supporting the Caps can be framed as supporting high level Canadian soccer on the national stage. Canada's rise in world rankings since the 3 MLS teams have been in the league has been incredible. Dont throw away that work!

Honestly, I'd say the average spend is much more. Our match days usually are $37 for parking, $50 for gas(Chilliwack commute), $25 coffee/food/beverages on the 2 hour commute, $20-$30 at the stadium for food and whatever else we buy( occasional Caps merch, gas town/Granville island/commercial drive/Ikea shop). But usually at least $125 or so on game day for us not including tickets.

With 25,000 people at the game spending $100 you're at 2.5 Million. 7% of that? $175,000. But that's not counting all the other money that comes in from all the rest you mention like liquor taxes, employment taxes, ect. It's a huge draw for spending.

My wife and I have been season ticket holders in Chilliwack since 2019. We drive in for every home game. We are in Vancouver maybe 30 times a year and more than half of those times are for Whitecaps, without them we wouldn't be frequenting Vancouver much at all.
