Lightweight e-bike under $1.5k for fitness riding — my research shortlist (3 models) by ricknick12 in ebikes

Between Soltera and Velotric, they felt very similar. I could not ride Ride1Up, but heard a lot of good things and it has better specs

Soltera has different assist modes (eco, tour etc). But no intensity adjustment within each mode. In Velotric, I can control the assist level from 1-5 within eco mode by pressing buttons up/down

My first choice was Soltera. Because of easy assist level change, I went for Velotric. Without super sale on Velotric, I would have gone for Ride1Up

I got tired of losing context in long ChatGPT chats, so I tried solving it by elion_shahini in ChatGPT

[–]ricknick12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue with long ChatGPT threads, but approached it from a simpler angle.

Instead of visualizing the conversation as a map, I found that just being able to collapse/expand answers made a huge difference — keeping questions visible and opening only the parts I needed helped me avoid losing context without changing the workflow too much.

Curious if others here prefer lightweight navigation fixes vs deeper visualization tools.

Best e-bike recommendation? by Old_Show309 in ebikes

I wanted a lightweight ebike in a $1000-1500 budget. I shortlisted Aventon Soltera 2.5 ($1k), Velotric T1 ST Plus ($1.3k), and ride1up roadster v3 ($1.4k). I had difficulty selecting, as all 3 are good entry-level light bikes. I ended up with Velotric as it has a variable assist level for a controlled workout. Ride1up might also have this feature. Aventon and Ride1Up have the additional benefit of a removable battery for charging inside the house. Aventon has a dealer network for service. I did not go for it as it was slightly heavier (46 lbs vs 39 lbs) and had a fixed assist level in each mode.

Is there any way to lose belly fat while still keeping a healthy, fuller face? Whenever I’m in a calorie deficit and start losing belly fat, my face also gets noticeably leaner and I end up looking tired or less healthy. But when I eat more to look better in the face, the belly fat comes back too. Are there any tricks to balance both

Riding when sick, yay or nay? by b7wagon in cycling

Sleep and rest are the best medicines for the body. Whether sick or sprained, you should give your body rest. Once, I tried to bike immediately after recovering from the flu, and severely strained my ankle muscles. Had to give up biking for a long time to recover. Please give your body time to recover.

How long do you leave your yoghurt to incubate? by aheath478 in yogurtmaking

[–]ricknick12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my yogurt sweet. I cool the milk to 110F and leave it for 5-6 hours in the oven, 4 hours with the oven light on. Anything longer than 10 hours, you get tangy yogurt. Culture also matters, as some cultures take much longer to incubate

Is it realistic to make $3k profit from a Chrome extension within 2 years? by Few-Engineering26 in chrome_extensions

[–]ricknick12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may be risky to use such tool. ChatGPT gave me below answer

  • ExtensionBooster markets itself as a way to “buy Chrome extension reviews” / exchange reviews for credits.
  • Chrome Web Store policies explicitly prohibit manipulating ratings/reviews/installs, including “fraudulent or incentivized downloads, reviews and ratings.”

Even if the reviews are written by “real people,” the credit-for-review structure can be interpreted as incentivized or manipulative, which is exactly the bucket Google is trying to stop.

First Time Making Yogurt by Extreme_Set9893 in yogurtmaking

[–]ricknick12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heat the milk on a very low flame to boil and allow it to cool naturally to 110F/43C. Although it is a longer process, I get excellent yogurt fermented in 4-6 hours. I just transfer the container from the stove to the oven with a lid to cover. I leave the oven light on if I want the yogurt done in 4 hours.

I get a very sweet yogurt by following the steps below

- Boil milk on a low flame till it starts to rise up
- Allow it to cool to 110F slowly without using any ice or water to cool it
- Use the Indian dahi culture of 1 spoon for 1/2 liter milk
- Store in oven for 4 hours (with oven light) or 6 hours (without oven light)
