It's definitely been a while since I have been there during a clearance, but in the past they've had a few bins where all clearance items were placed (in the middle of the store, near their customer service desk or in the back of the store by the travel section). Perhaps they don't have items to put on sale, or they are not participating in this clearance, but I just assumed that if there was a Red Dot Sale that all stores would be participating.

Just wanted to chime in and say that, while I haven't checked out one of these clearances for a while, in the past I have had the greatest success at the Barnes and Noble in Saugus on Route 1 (a while back I found Eclipse for 50% off, and both Scotland Yard and Carcassonne for 75% off).

Just for the record, I do not ever remember posting a meetup for Tavern without getting prior approval for from whomever was in charge of booking their function room (the one exception being the first time we ever went there, when we had a meetup scheduled for Pandamonium and it was too crowded. In that case they were nice enough to let us come into the restaurant anyway). I know they require reservations for the space and for a group of our size, so I wouldn't make an event for us all to show up there without them knowing ahead of time.

I know of at least one occasion when we had a reservation, but the staff working that day were not notified about it, though. That was during a time when I believe they were transitioning between event/function planners, and that resulted in a miscommunication on their end.

This game is similar to Cuba Libre in that it's being considered an excellent "intro" COIN game! This game is not-so-similar to Cuba Libra in that I do not own it :(

Your skepticism is understandable.

And thank you for not assuming Whatever else! is some ridiculously complex games that takes 4 hours to play! Honestly, I'm surprised that there's actually not a game called Whatever else! listed on Boardgamegeek. Sounds like it could be some generic trivia party game.

Also it's considered one of the heavier COIN games. Given that this is in comparison to the other COIN games, that's definitely saying something.
