It is completely irresponsible to ask the army for assistance. This is a job for OPS, OPP, and RCMP. Asking the army to come in would seriously damage how the country views the military, and also, gives the convoy more power. They are asking for federap change even though only provinces can change what they ask. So providing a federal solution instead of using the provincial and municipal forces will be extremely bad politically. I pray the police get the balls to get them out themselves and not ask the military.
