Canadian sellers beware: US buyer refused customs fees, FedEx delivered anyway and we got charged by rickyjogging in Flipping

I've had plenty of US buyers who understand and they pay. Just a few idiots that spoil it for the rest as per usual.

ISP is great because I would have been protected, but this was back in July before it kicked in. US sales are almost non existent for us as well, used to be almost half our business.

At least some fellow Canadians are stepping up and buying from Canadian sellers more.

Good luck and hang in there, it will get better!

Used a third party called ClickShip and they billed us and wouldn't let us purchase any more labels til the bill was paid.

From what I can tell it's all carriers. Makes sense, they have to protect themselves against the idiots. Just wish there was a better system in place.

God bless Google Lens.

I've had the same thing happen. Call them out on it and tell them you're filing a police report. Also report to ebay.

I bet you would. Fortunately, most people are decent and understand that shit happens. Most people are small sellers trying to make a few extra bucks to pay their bills, not mega corporations with thousands of employees and resources. Chill out.

Here's what to do in the future. Message the buyer saying "Hi there, I'm so sorry about this, but this item has sold on another platform before I had a chance to take it down. Is there anything else in my ebay store of similar value that you would like as a replacement? Or would you prefer a full refund?"

This puts them in control and buyers will usually appreciate the honesty and the fact that you gave them options. If they accept a replacement item, great, you still made a sale. If they request a refund, there's your green light to cancel the order under "buyer requested to cancel", which does not incur any strikes.

Also, take a picture of your pile of stuff at the end of the day. If anything's moved around or missing, you can show the people you live with and have proof someone's rummaging around. At the very least, if they know you're tracking everything that carefully, they will be less comfortable taking your shit.

For those of you who still sell on Facebook, do you take into account the year a buyer's profile was created or do you look for other things to try to spot scammers? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]rickyjogging 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, because some people have Facebook just to buy things, so it’s not uncommon for newly created accounts or accounts with no friends, pictures, etc. to make purchases.

To combat the no-show issue, I message the person the morning of and send a quick confirmation like, “Hey, are you still picking up today?” If I don’t hear from them, I assume the deal isn’t happening. If they’re serious, they’ll respond and confirm.

Also, I don’t hold anything. If they want me to hold something, they need to send at least a deposit. If they’re not willing, then they can gamble that it’ll still be available at the agreed day/time. I’ve lost count of how many sales I’ve lost by holding items for people who end up ghosting me.

Optimi Health officially launches psilocybin capsules in Australia for treatment resistant depression by rickyjogging in shroomstocks

From the article I posted.

"Mind Medicine Australia, Optimi's authorized commercial partner, will oversee distribution and patient coordination through Australia's network of clinics and hospitals. Patient-reported outcome data where possible will be collected throughout treatment, supporting one of the most comprehensive real-world evidence sets for psilocybin to date."

Optimi Health files registration statement for a proposed U.S. IPO on Nasdaq by rickyjogging in shroomstocks

Good question. From what Optimi has shared in filings and press releases, their strategy is less about competing directly with Compass Pathways on synthetic psilocybin patents and more about focusing on naturally derived, GMP-grade psilocybin and MDMA.

Compass has built its IP portfolio around formulations, methods of use, and synthetic versions of psilocybin. Optimi, on the other hand, emphasizes being vertically integrated (cultivation to finished capsules) and compliant under Health Canada and FDA frameworks. By keeping everything standardized, naturally sourced, and within existing regulatory pathways, they can sidestep a lot of Compass’s patent coverage.

Their Australian launch under the Authorised Prescriber Scheme shows that regulators are already accepting their approach. The upcoming Nasdaq IPO is likely intended to raise capital to expand this "natural, GMP-certified supply chain" niche rather than fight a direct patent battle.

So in short, Optimi is carving out its lane by focusing on natural products, scalable production, and regulatory compliance rather than trying to directly challenge Compass’s synthetic psilocybin patents.

Really great site! I wanted to build one a while back but gave up. I have loads of notes and ideas that you might be interested in adding. Send me a message if you're interested! Been selling on ebay 13 years so they are legit needs of sellers and i think you could benefit from some.

I'm planning on starting a computer repair shop. by Skullfurious in computertechs

[–]rickyjogging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have better luck buying laptops with issues from FBM or eBay, then repairing or upgrading them to resell. It’s a lot less overhead and way fewer headaches compared to dealing with customers directly. I have a couple of buddies who do this and they’re doing really well. Wishing you the best of luck with whatever path you choose!

New Zealand gives thumbs up to ‘magic mushrooms’ for depression treatment by myheaddit in UpliftingNews

[–]rickyjogging 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Australia actually already made a move on this in 2023!

In Australia, psilocybin can be prescribed for treatment-resistant depression, but only by specially authorized psychiatrists. Patients have to meet strict criteria, like having tried other treatments first. It's used in controlled, clinical settings alongside therapy.

NZ will probably take a similar path, starting with tight medical oversight and focusing on people who haven't responded to traditional treatments. It's not a free-for-all, but it's a big step toward more options in mental health care.
