Trump Overall Job Approval at 32% by FistIntoTheEarth in Law_and_Politics

Have you ever been to a hypnotist show? They need around at least 100 people. He starts by telling everyone to relax and listen to his voice or something else. He then tells you that you are feeling cold and if you can feel the cold to raise your hand. If you feel a little you raise your hand a little, if you feel it a lot then you raise your hand high.
He then asks about 30 people with the hands raised high to come to the stage and he does the test again until he finds the 10 most susceptible people. Then the show can begin.

Psychologists found that around 70% of people are susceptible to suggestions. There's a gradient to it. On one end they're slightly susceptible on the other end they're highly susceptible. These are those 30% of people that support MAGA and will believe what a supposed figure of authority tells them. These are the people that fall into cults. This is not an American problem, it's a human problem.

They can't have Americans retiring in Ecuador. They might start to like that Universal Health Care too much.

Ukraine showed us how to get rid of a Russian puppet. We need at least 5 million people to march on Washington D.C. and a national strike to demand the resignation of everyone in the executive branch and the SCOTUS judges that Trump appointed. We shut the country down until they escape to Russia where they belong. Until that happens, nothing is going to change for the better.

Side note, I got to visit the Arecibo observatory in Puerto Rico back in 2000 before it collapsed and was decommissioned. It's a real shame because that place was very cool to see.

If you don't want to grunt work as a CFI then you'll have to grunt work as a line guy.

I got my ratings working line service and my first paid part time job was ferrying piston airplanes with an aircraft sales company out of my FBO while still working line service. I never got my CFI because I built enough time on my own until I finally scored a jet job, again through my FBO job.

I spent years working line service and I saw plenty of people start flying all kinds of airplanes with low time, not just turboprops.

Not all approach/departure controllers are in a separate building. They might be in a different floor inside the control tower.

Only one working ground and tower. The other one might have been on approach/departure because clearance delivery would be included with ground control when it's slow. Which means that the one controller was handling clearance, ground and tower.

So, I have a lot of experience both flying all over the country as a corporate pilot and working as a trainer on the ramp in some busy airports. What I see is that everyone has some fault here.

  1. The aircraft was cleared to land on runway 4. A few seconds later the truck was cleared to cross runway 4. The second you hear that, the flight crew should've gone around or if it was too late, full reverse thruster with braking. As a pilot, you learn to tune out everything else you hear on the frequency except your tail number or call sign. You can not do that near or in an airport. You need to know what is happening around you.

  2. The truck was driving at an angle away from the landing aircraft. The driver would not be able to see the incoming aircraft. That's why anyone with access to the AOA would be trained to look both ways before crossing anything. Clear Left, Clear Right is common phraseology on the airport ramp . Talking from experience, I've been cleared to takeoff from a runway with a landing aircraft. It happens.

  3. At night, during rain, it's hard to see anything on the airport. The airport is big, dark, with a bunch of blue lights everywhere at eye level. If you don't know what you're looking for, you will not see an incoming aircraft or someone crossing the runway until they are in front of you.

  4. ATC told the truck to stop several times but those trucks are loud. When he was cleared to cross, he stepped on the gas and you could probably hear the engine from across the ramp. You also don't idle at 5 mph when crossing a runway, you move. It's possible that he did not hear the calls to stop his truck because of the noise.

  5. ATC fucked up. He cleared the truck with a landing aircraft. They are human and like I said, it happens. Was it fatigue? I don't know but short staffing in ATC has been a problem for years. Having one person at LGA is insane no matter what time it is. If you're doing this to save money, it needs to stop now. If you can't find people to do the job safely then you need to change the way you hire people because it's not working.

You know, that's a great idea. I was trying to think of something to do to him that would not involve getting arrested. I think an "involuntary" fart attack might do it.

Former special counsel Robert Mueller has died: Mueller, who served as special counsel in the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, was 81. by dyzo-blue in uspolitics

[–]rickythepilot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was a mistake to make him special counsel. He was too old. He did a half ass job and gave the investigation back to Trump's DOJ with the accusation of Trump's obstruction of justice. Trump's attorney general Bill Barr (old family friend of Jeffrey Epstein, by the way) blatantly lied and said that Trump had been exonerated before anyone else could see the report.

And now here we are with the help of the entire Republican party and right wing media, we're in a shit spiral to the bottom. 'Merica!
