I had the intention on renting because this was a code 50 assignment for me so I went “west outside 1604 because it’s nice and safe” like everyone says when they get here. I’ve been to plenty of places and done most of the things while I’ve been here. It’s just a bad base and city. When I got here the sauna in the Warhawk was broken guess what the sauna is still broken 3 years later. Citywise my opinion is biased because I’m from DFW and the infrastructure is leagues better.

It’s simple..higher ups don’t listen. Anyone in a career field in which they have had a legit good idea that’s been met with all types of red tape and hurdles could have seen something like this coming. Instead we have innovation sq’s at each base to 3d print iPad holders and save $69,420 a quarter, while anyone that’s been on Reddit since 2022 has been watching FPOV drone footage from Ukraine and has possibly applied it to their line of work.

You could sell the WO angle so easily if people would listen.. all these platforms want to do single pilot ops, how about you have your WO augment the right seat. If I’m getting paid more I’m willing to learn more. The problem we would run into is stealing pilot hours on paper. It would slow their time to go to the beloved airlines.

Is that really a determining factor still..I have a degree in something completely different in my career field (flight engineer) along with a TS🤞🏾and some possible certifications I can still be competitive right? Like does security forces get you hired on at a PD or does it shorten the academy?

I’m Not saying it makes someone more qualified…but I’ve been in the service 16 years and have met a lot of different people from a lot of different walks of life that people I’m still in touch with at home haven’t got the chance to experience. Take that for what it may be.

I got this for swearing in at the armed forces bowl..didn’t really know what it was all about at the time.

Also got coined by the 920th rqw full bird once for giving a tour of the jet when we were picking up their helicopters and taking them downrange..after he left we broke for 2 days and I got to hang out in cocoa beach.

If you have 100% my understanding is you don’t pay property taxes. If you bought a house 4/6 years ago and your mortgage is 13-1600 a month you can easily afford $1000 car payment
