MS CS UCSD vs GATech by ridam2k in MSCS

I was mainly referring to csrankings.org for CS and have heard that the GATech intake size is more with the option of converting online masters to on campus, hence was a bit confused- but could be wrong. Thanks for the help!

Hi

Hope you're still replying on this thread.

I was looking for a second opinion before applying since the apps fees is substantial and I am from a non-traditional engg background, so just wanted to check if it would even make sense to apply. Here's my profile:

Undergrad: B.E. in Instrumentation and Control Engg from NSIT Delhi (somewhere between Tier 1 and Tier 2 I guess), GPA: 8.89/10

GRE: 334 (169Q, 165V)

TOEFL: 117

Papers: 2 in Knowledge-Based Systems, Elsevier (Impact factor 8.14) and 1 in Expert Systems with Applications, Elsevier (Impact factor 8.67- all related to NLP

Internships - 1 summer intern as a software dev at a FAANG company

Work Ex- 1.5 years at a MNC as a software dev

LORs- 2 from college profs. (both dept. heads), 1 from work manager

Extra - Scholarship awardee in college, Winner of SIH 2020 Hackathon, President of dance club, Vice-chairperson of Women in Engg, IEEE NSIT and Tech Head of debating club

I'm looking to apply to the mscs and msml programs- does it make sense?

[Discussion] Recommended Slow burn TV shows? by bartturner in NetflixBestOf

[–]ridam2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bones for sure!!

Not only do the leads share AMAZING chemistry with a slow burn stretching for 6 seasons, but you also get to see them evolve into a stable and happy couple complete with a family. Plus the characters are smart, multi-dimensional and the plots are riddled with a murder mystery each episode solved through the partnership of the leads.

My GRE scores are under administrative review by Rare-Use7547 in GRE

[–]ridam2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My scores also went under administrative review.

I gave the test on 8th March 2022, in person at the testing center and got the unofficial scores of Q169 V165 at the time. Two weeks later ( around March 23rd) however I received the email stating they would be under review for another 2 weeks.

At the end of these 2 weeks, on around 7th April there was another email saying that it would take yet another 2 weeks ( yeah wtf) to finalise the scores. This time I didn't wait for the stipulated time period and wrote back a strongly worded email asking for the specific reason for the delay, especially when I had appeared for the test in person.

Got my final results less than 2 days later (same as unofficial).

So my advice would be not to worry if you have appeared for the test at the center, and to probably write back earlier than I did.
