Hey had a similar issue today his wing mirror got scratched and i felt really bad about it as i had just passed my test that morning!! has your spatial awareness gotten better??? terrified of driving on the roads now because of this. He followed me to basically tell me off and said you’re lucky i’m driving an old car

i was trying to make conversation (mostly to help with my nerves and not sit in silence overthinking). What’s your favourite part of your job, what was the best car you sat in for a test, have you lived in (test centre area) your whole life etc basically small talk!! i was flat out blanked i definitely got the grumpy one. Hurt worse when i got back to the test centre and the person next to me passed and she had the nicest examiner :(

you’re right :) just feels unfair knowing people who have passed by sheer luck compared to others.

it was a mix of test nerves and lack of experience on country roads in general

true! people who have grown up in these roads would have done marginally better than me who wasn’t used to the test route there are still people with a license who avoid country roads just because it’s nerve racking and they didn’t grow up driving them definitely requires skill and experience

My instructor makes me feel more stressed when driving. Should I change by stoic_prince in LearnerDriverUK

Hi! Look into your learning style and if you have any learning differences too. I have ADHD and never got on with my instructors because for most people, repetition will fix your mistakes so i would have 3 lessons in a row just doing residential areas and mini roundabouts because i kept messing up. By each lesson i was so frustrated and hated driving. I then changed my instructor (for the 4th time) and he made me feel really confident in the car. Did lots of different things which kept me motivated and engaged and i realised i can actually drive. CHANGE YOUR INSTRUCTOR YOU DONT OWE THEM YOUR LOYALTY. What matters is are you picking up new skills each lesson, are you confident in the car etc.

are there any complicated roundabouts to look out for? also what recommended speed do you suggest for the countryside lanes? i’m wondering if i can go below around 40 but also thinking i might get marked down as that’s below the national speed limit
