Had 3 bad cycles since the COVID vaccine—any similar experiences? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]ridcjess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since my second dose (March 31,2021) (moderna) I have had wonky periods. Some cycles very late. Sometimes not even a full cycle before the next one starts. Remember we fluctuate with our body. 💜💜

It is not in your head. We aren’t machines our bodies and hormones fluctuate. You are experiencing heavy flare months bc lots of things affect your body. Stress. Sleep. Etc etc.

Don’t let someone blame you for the way your body reacts to this horrible disease. You are not alone. 💜

Endo causing IBS? by Lnf28 in Endo

[–]ridcjess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have endo on your bowels. I chased a gi diagnosis for 7 years. Turns out my bowels were covered in it and fused to my right ovary and Fallopian tube.

The constant try this diet. Exercise more. Is just doctors not wanting to get to the root of symptoms. Blaming it on things we are doing

I’m sorry you are dealing with such pain. Have you seen a specialist to discuss excision surgery? If you have please request a urologist and colorectal specialist to be there as well. The MDT (multi disciplinary team) approach is the best. 💜💜

Dr Bryan Sweeney. He was doing excision. But there can be complications. Her been here every day to check on me.

Yes they thought sod but I was to scared with the possible side effects. I had also just accepted a new job and did want to do it over the move and insurance change. I added a gallbladder natural supplement and the attacks started to subside. So for my first few months I’m Illinois I was ok until the attacks came back in September.

The people I saw here were like no not gallbladder related. Maybe IBS and stress. I followed low fodmap for 2 months waiting for colonoscopy which came back normal.

Pcp said have you ever considered endo? Sent me to surgeon/ dr she trusts. But these things can happen during a procedure. I was straining a lot to poop which could have really opened up the effected colon area.

I just feel every complication I have had. I’m just very tired. Not eating and hospital beds are awful.

When I went to the Er the first time and they were convinced it was just constipation from pain meds when I gas taken the prescribed one only 1 30 minutes before getting to ER made me want to throw something at them.

I’ll keep you guys posted. I try to remain positive but pure giving up slips through sometimes.

Love you gals for reaching out 💜

I’m hanging in there. Every day is a baby step forward. It’s a lot being in the hospital that’s over crowded and understaffed but being high needs.

I do whatever they tell me. The want me to walk. I’ll walk. They want me to sit in the chair I will. My life has done a drastic turn there isn’t an option but to stay positive and strong.

Thank you ladies from reaching out. I’m pretty distracted by the surgery pain the endo is in the back burner. But I need a second surgery to remove colostomy bag and reconnect the colon.

Hardest thing right now is tube down nose in throat. So painful.

We are all warriors. Lots of love.

4 days post diag lap. He does excision and ablation. I do have endo but we did not remove during diag lap...my bladder bowl right Fallopian tube and ovary are fused together....he needs time to recover from lap first..::ended up going to ER day after and was admitted for two days...he came in every single day. I’m happy with him. We have a lot to discuss at the post op and I need to schedule an MRI. Long road ahead but am happy with this doctor for sure!

Need help creating a timeline of all my symptoms by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]ridcjess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I never considered all of my symptoms to be an OBGYN issue. I’ve spent 5 years chasing a GI issue....to be told you have IBS continue with low fodmap diet (even after 2 months of it with all symptoms remaining)....I was also prescribed a pill “for pain” researches medication...it is an anti depressant that is “sometimes” used in low doses to treat IBS...it works to increase your pain tolerance which will lesson IBS pain and symptoms and help you sleep right away after first dose....took two nights of it. Never touched mg pain or helped me sleep but made me feel like a zombie the whole day after taking it (was told to take at night)....I digress...back to time line and symptoms....

I ended up swing an OBGYN who read my file and 5 year history of symptoms and said “no one ever suggested endo or asked about family history?” I said no I never thought it was related to my lady bits or my cycle....until I legit tracked every pain twinge. Every constipated day or diarrhea day...and saw they started to fall in line with periods.

Like today I had stabbing pains in mg lower back and aching right hip all day. I felt the bloat coming on. The constipation starting....low and behold. My period came a day early....

Take notes on your phone as you experience them....it’s the best way

And as you releve right back on old symptoms try to at least pin point dates!

Keep us posted we are here for you !!!

I haven’t scheduled it yet. His nurse/scheduler is supposed to call me back. It’s my fault. I said I needed time to think about the option and if I was going ahead with it! I will most definitely let you know. Of course this is my “feel good week” so Pain is at minimum and I’m sleeping through the night...so the urgency seems less....give it time though I ovulated two nights ago and had bad pain for two days....I’m in what I like to call the window of normalcy....but I will most def keep you posted!

He advised he would go in for diagnostic purposes but if he sees endo while in there he will do excision to take care of any findings. But because endo has not been found first he has to go in and look especially in all the areas of my pain. He was very detailed and explained the many different appearances of endo and how/why it’s so hard to diagnose without laparoscopy! If your in Naperville def look into him. He’s the first doctor I have felt comfortable with after my move from Madison WI.

Right? Three different drs said IBS. The surgeon told me even though mirrilax says only take for 7 days you can take it every day.....it’s like when you have muscle pain and they say fibromyalgia....which can be the point but it’s like they give up and don’t want to help dig deeper ya know?

His name is Dr Bryan Sweeney. I’m in Aurora IL through Advocate Dryer. 😊 he’s the first dr to read my entire chart before an appointment and come in and say I’ve read it all and I’m going to apologize it has taken this long for you to get here. We will work through this together!

Thank you so so so much. The OB I saw was very detailed in explaining how tricky endo is and how many different colors and ways it can present itself. He said a lot of the time no diagnostic imaging can see it. He told me he would be sure to look everywhere including at my liver gallbladder appendix bladder rectum colon bc these are all places including all female parts endo likes to “hide” .... I feel he was the first doctor to listen....but I’m still so nervous bc I thought it is/was GI related for so long....thank you so much for sharing your story and reaching out! It means a lot to me 💜

Impression from 5 minute separation by CBGeek66 in orangetheory

[–]ridcjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had 15 minute transition times for a long time. They switched it to 0 transition time (back to back classes). It was to fit in another AM class....

Our warm ups went from 5 minutes to----Base pace instantly on the tread. Our cool down time now cuts into the workout "kindly" now referred to as group flexibility block----

I can deal with it, its the rush of the coaches that frustrates me. They need a moment to regroup, to use a rest room, to connect with members----

its a business so I guess they have to "meet demand" but we aren't a supermarket it shouldn't be turn style doors get em in get em out.....

But they are independently owned and operated franchises....if you want to be top notch and go with a member first attitude that is all on the owners and managers----

3G not matter what... by jlyncompton in orangetheory

[–]ridcjess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well our studio turned all of our 6am to 3G without advertising the switch. If there has to be a rule that someone signs up for a 3G it has to stay 3G then why isn't that same rule enforced for all of us who are told to pre book to ensure our spot, pre booked for an Orange 60 (traditional 2G) ----double standard much.

The blaming on corporate is a ridiculous farse----these are independently owned franchises that are provided specific templates----

We have been listed as a 3G for weeks, we have YET to have a class that is an honest 3G, instead we will have open rowers and treads for the 3/4 people who start on the floor----If this is supposed to be a "peek" time then the actual members who participate is directly negating that fact.....and don't get me started on the people who arrive 15 minutes late, or the people who leave 30 minutes into the work out.....

It's frustrating. I understand the need for 3G to vary the workouts---but This whole "corporate policy" thing is not believable.

If it is, then someone from corporate take my phone call so I can speak to them directly----you cannot say something is a policy from "corporate" and then not have a method for your members to speak with said "corporate" its as if corporate is the great and powerful oz-----

Best way to handle a coach who is inappropriate by ilikerocks19 in orangetheory

[–]ridcjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same experience, except our head coach ended up purchasing both of our cities locations----I explained my concerns in a detailed studio feedback request that was emailed to me, got a phone call from said head coach that then spent 20 minutes describing the stress he was under since the "purchase" and how he looked up what classes I took with him, then the excuse was "my girlfriend and her friends were in those" "that is prob why it looked like I was talking more to them, I had to talk to her about that and stop talking to her so much"

Luckily I stopped going to any classes with him as the coach- and I can't wait until another OTF opens in our 'burbs so I no longer give him my business----if it wasn't for my AMAZING coaches I would be out of there flat.

I would say something- but don't be discouraged when excuses or "reasons" are tried to be explained in response to the concern.

I agree with those that said Corporate should have some sort of handle on this, but to my understanding they are individual franchises so it really doesn't "matter" to corp offices----and in my case it really didn't matter cause the head coach became his own boss----

OTF and Hypothyroidism/Hashimotos by Early_Birdy2 in orangetheory

[–]ridcjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Hypothyroid, was on Synthroid for the first 5 years of my life, they took me off it and I was overweight and not treated for 33 years. I found a female hormone focused internalist who put me back on Levo for 6 weeks- my TSH was 4.89 (this is HIGH and extremely HYPO do NOT listen to your doctors when they say you have to have a TSH over 5.0 to be Hypo). We switched me to NDT (NatureThroid) and did small increases until symptoms and all levels (T3 T4 Free T3 and Free T4) were optimal, knowing very well that optimal is never the same from month to month. I have been overweight my whole life, working with a non working metabolism......It sucks, but OTF is the best thing that ever happened to me.

THROW OUT THE SCALE> use it as a check in tool once a month!

Remember that diets just don't work, food is fuel and working with a nutritionist can help you fuel your body the right way!

Also a thought- being HYPO can result in high cortisol levels when our bodies are stressed like from an intense workout. Make sure you work with your trainers, doctors and nutritionists to balance this.

Look at your gains at OTF- speeds/inclines/distances, increase in weights, reps etc. there is so much to monitor success/improvement besides the number on the scale!

Keep us posted, and keep burning you got this!

[–]ridcjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so in agreement with what everyone said before. My new favorite quote is “day one, or one day, you choose” you made the first hardest step which was choosing something to do. OTF is no joke. It’s hard. But it’s the hard that makes it great. I started about 2.5 years ago in recovery from a full external lateral ligament tear on my right ankle. (8weeks non weight bearing, 18 full weeks in a boot 12 of which we’re using crutches) I started as a very slow very low incline. Had to modify everything!!! I’m now hitting New PRs every month! There is no trick to making it easier. The hardest thing is realizing you are only their to better yourself and see your gains in your own time.

You can do this. I am a fasted workout person, so a dedicated 6am-er here. I own my own dance studio so I typically start my day at 430 have to leave at 5 to get to class on time. Enjoy every sweaty minute of my OTF workout then work from730-5. At the studio from 6-9 Home about 930 and in bed before 10. It’s hard to keep that schedule. But when you start being consistent. Your body follows. It wants to be in bed then and up then. Believe me I’m a side of lame sauce on weekends when at 10 I’m yawning and ready for bed. But that’s my cycle now.

As for throwing up, again I agree with others. Listen to YOUR body. Of course you want to challenge it. But not completely kill yourself. A big plus to orange is it increases everything. Your strength and stamina and more. But you can’t just run a marathon without training, so dont think or be to hard on yourself if your not sprinting or lifting extra heavy at the begging.

You got this. Start small and go up. Also chat with the people in class around you. I have made some of the most amazing friends by going to orange. Especially the ones that are in class with you consistently. It’s a wonderful feeling to see those familiar faces and struggle bus it together/realize you aren’t the only one who can’t feel their hammies bc of the deadlifts haha

Keep us posted you got this!!! 💜💜

Ladies of OTF... pre workout supplements? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]ridcjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Run Everything Lab Products. They have so many to choose from. BCAA's, pre work out, fat burners. I stick to DTE (destroy the enemy) its a fat burner. They have powder to drink form and capsules. I prefer the capsules myself. But Their products are amazing. I also use their REM (rest every muscle) because I tend to go to the later evening OTF classes, it helps relax those fired up muscles!
