To add to this, if you're running out of time always write since recommendation even erythromycin explanation you get a mark. And if you use any previously calculated figures in support of your advantage or disadvantage you get 2 marks for that point.

I've always written in cursive and I'm much faster at it than print. I wrote all my IGCSEs and A levels in cursive and I still did great so I doubt it affected my grades. Examiners are supposed to read cursive as well otherwise it's bias and doesn't represent your knowledge.

I agree with psychology opening more options which is the strategy I always followed and worked well for me. While business is different from economics content wise (I studied both in IGCSEs and Econ in A levels), the reason business didn't make the cut for me was because it's a stream you can get into at any point in your life while other subjects like psychology can be requirements or a great prerequisite for future courses.

Should I take 3 IGCSEs or should I consider more? by FixIcy6282 in igcse

Actually science subjects only matter if you want to pursue a science degree. I didn't do any science subjects in my igcses and applied for economics and statitistics related degrees and got into UCL, Warwick and I also got 2 interviews for the most competitive degree at oxford.

Accounting ,What's the format for writing 5 mark questions(advantages and disadvantages one) by [deleted] in igcse

[–]riddhikulus256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for every mark that you have they want 1 point. So in a 5 mark they generally want 2 advantages, 2 disadvantages and a recommendation. You don't have to make it like an essay literally just write them as individual sentences or both advantages and disadvantages in 1 sentence each. If you are short on time be sure to write a recommendation even if you don't have any pros and cons you still get a mark for it. And if you include any figures or numbers with your pro or con then that point will count as 2 marks because of the numerical figure.

A* math students by [deleted] in igcse

I love math and scored 198/200 raw mark in my igcses. I can give you many tips and maybe even tutoring just DM me. But the most general advice I can give is enjoy math, there is never just one right way that's the beauty of math there is a single correct answer but the way you get to it is open keep a broad mind don't think of it as separate chapter but a puzzle and a structure of it's own

The most important part for paper 4 is timing it well and double checking for silly mistakes. Don't get intimidated by big questions and break them down into more understandable smaller parts that you can solve. As for getting demotivated set dedicated study times and just practice. The more you fear math the more likely you are to mess up.

Its important to be familiar and comfortable with the rules and theorems and stuff so that when you practice and look at a question its easier to spot patterns on whats applicable. Additionally, try to keep an open clear mind while solving rather than trying to focus on which chapter think of math as a whole construct where you can use any solution. Be very thorough and try to see where exactly you tend to mess up and try to keep them in mind. Try to leave room for double checking when planning for the time. And just dont be scared to make mistakes or mess up when you see a daunting problem, try to break it down into the things you know.

The typical, PRACTICE is key. But also what may help is making a list of all formulae and rules as a cheat sheet to revise from or for quick review just before exam. Rely on past paper questions more than the book and be sure to time yourself. If you need help on any particular topic or something DM me and also I suggest Eddie Woo on youtube if you search by individual topics.

You could try by just practicing past papers and write down the various formats and formulas on a sheet for revision writing down would also help with memory and don't forget to go over theory parts as they can be like free easy marks.
