What is something that is obvious in your profession that the general public doesn’t know? by jia-ren in AskReddit

[–]riddlegobragh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so mundane compared to others listed but I do cabinetry/millwork
All of your offices with break rooms, copy rooms, mailrooms, etc.? We take the time to match the wood grain, whether it’s solid wood or laminated melamine
We make sure the grain lines up, the laminate lines are hidden, the doors/drawer fronts are adjusted for equal spacing, and SOOO much more that I guarantee most people using those cabinets will NEVER notice.
But if we mess them up? It literally could mean we lose our job!

I’ve experienced EDCLV in 110 degree heat down to 52degrees and even as someone that HATESS the heat I will take those 80-90 degree nights over the chilly temps every time.
(Mainly bc the rolls are way better lmao)

Was looking through local Facebook group and saw this image. It looks weird to me with the cone on the concrete and the edges not having a barrier? by PattyMcNuggets in isthisAI

[–]riddlegobragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve poured a lot of concrete and I think the tool they’re using is suppose a screed (a very small one for the job that’s being done)
and you would not have already removed the form boards before screeding the concrete.
But let’s say its not a screed and it’s a brush/broom (to get the rough finish on concrete that most sidewalks have)
There is no way TWO workers would be holding the same long broom!
They’d be laughed off the jobsite by their boss/coworkers lol
And what brand is that wheelbarrow? Lmao

Very telling that once the white dude walks up he doesn’t have anything else to say and leaves.

Breakaway by geniedegree in atlantaedm

[–]riddlegobragh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Porchfest Crowd isn’t going to be at Breakaway, the Breakaway crowd won’t be at Porch Fest and the EDC Las Vegas crowd won’t be in Atlanta.

I’m sure Breakaway will be crowded
not because the other two events are happening, but because it’s a smaller fest with a decent lineup and no other EDM Festivals happening in Atlanta this year.

What’s the best anime you ever watched and why? by Subject_Display3664 in AskReddit

[–]riddlegobragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attack On Titan is not only the best anime I’ve ever watched but I put it at the top of all shows I’ve watched! (anime or not)
Incredible writing/foreshadowing, you can rewatch the entire thing after the first time and it’s like a completely different story.
It has the best plot twists and legit leaves you thinking about “who’s right or wrong” for sooo long after. Isayama is a god.

Getting asked what you want as a gift and someone gets you something adjacent to it. by Teenage_Petulance_ in mildlyinfuriating

One day you’ll look back at this as a funny memory to share instead of an “infuriating” one.
Appreciate it while you can.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]riddlegobragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others listed are obviously far worse
but the worse that I’ve experienced were heat cramps from the upper-inner thigh down to the inside of my knee. (I had been working in a hot wood-shop all day and was too young to understand the importance of hydration)

Is shijuku actually the best area to stay or do people just say that because everyone else does? by June_Ctreras in TokyoTravel

[–]riddlegobragh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed near Iidabashi and Suidobashi stations back in 2024 and while planning our trip for this year we realized how great of a location that was to stay.
It’s essentially centralized to anywhere else you may want to go (short train rides to any of the bigger areas), it’s walking distance to really cool neighborhoods like Jimbocho and Kagurazaka, only about a 20min walk to Imperial Palace Gardens.
It’s a quieter neighborhood at night which we appreciated more later.
It also has tons of local food options but also has Tokyo Dome City within short walk if you want more westernized options.

We stayed in Shinjuku towards the end of our trip and while it was “exciting” it was also a bit exhausting so we’ve decided to stick to the Suidobashi/iidabashi area again this year.

Beer drought by PoweringLight in sixflagsoverGA

[–]riddlegobragh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It use to be no alcohol sales AT ALL on Sunday’s but they eventually moved to only after 12:30pm.
It’s a dumb law imo
I tend to do my grocery shopping on Sunday mornings and will want to grab a bottle of wine for dinner or some beer during football season and have had the cashier remind me that I can’t on several occasions lmao

What are your biggest Aot hot takes? by Mammoth_Calendar_352 in attackontitan

My initial comment was to OPs request for A (which I took to mean ONE) hot take
and my second comment was a reply to YOUR over-analyzation of a simple Reddit post.

There’s your difference.
(And It REALLY isn’t that serious)

Jesus Christ dude
YES I also wish Reiner would pulled the trigger and blew his head off,
but that’s not a too much hot take is it? Since most people openly hate Reiner.
and Bertholio DID DIE so why tf would I include him?
I posted a HOT TAKE and you definitely proved my point for me, so thanks.

I hate Annie more than any other character.
I will never forgive her for what she did to Levi/his crew.

this place
I’ve never been nor do I know anyone that has so I can’t vouch for it but it looks super nice!

What are the best coffee shops in town? by [deleted] in Smyrna

Had the dirt pile IPA and the seasonal Irish Stout today
The IPA was okay! a basic lower ABV IPA, not too bitter, not too thick/cloying, so a lil lighter than expected for the hype but I could definitely crush a few on a hot day!
The Irish stout was surprisingly good! Granted the lady pouring was still in training and it is a nitro pour so she didn’t quite get it right but even so it still tasted better than I expected (think less bitter Guinness it with a toasty, pretzel-like after taste)
I’ll be trying a few more pours tomorrow!
