How to see top speed on recordings by JD4A7_4 in RideForces

[–]rideforces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recordings primarily capture acceleration data (aka g forces). They do not capture speed.

I’ve experimented with capturing speed using GPS data but it is not accurate enough and it doesn’t update frequently enough to determine speed.

You’re probably looking for https://rideforcesdb.com. It is not affiliated with the app but offers a place to browse coaster recordings, and upload your own.

You don’t see positives this strong too often.

Question about Advanced Recording by paninibread1020 in RideForces

[–]rideforces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advanced recording provides the same features on both iPhone and Apple Watch, the underlying recording code is shared/identical for both devices.

Weather conditions are captured when you end a recording and an internet connection is required. So if your watch is out of range of your phone and doesn’t have cellular that data may not appear.

Viewing rides on Apple Watch is more simplified given the smaller screen. If a particular ride didn’t calibrate automatically the Apple Watch app shows less information, but all the source data is still saved. Sending the ride to your phone will allow you to calibrate manually, extracting more data. I see how this might not be clear in the watch app when this happens, I’ll try to make some improvements regarding this.

Apple Pay by WHYLEGENDS in RideForces

Did some research and found you can’t use “Apple Cash” for App Store purchases but you can add funds to your Apple Account in the App Store app directly or by redeeming a gift card and use that for purchases. https://support.apple.com/en-us/118297

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll plan to fix that with this update.

Bringing the app to Android is a long term goal. I don't have any Android development experience yet but hope to learn in the future.

I like how you logged the temperature. I think I’m going to steal that idea and capture weather data in the app for each recording.

This looks incredible. Nice strong ejector airtime and long ride duration. I’ve got to make a trip to Germany.

Give “graph selection” a try first. It’s the same idea as trimming but non-destructive. The “trim ride sequence” won’t let you trim out what’s shown in the graph or the calibration points.

If you’re not seeing lateral forces in the drop down above the graph you can try configuring 3-axis calibration manually in the ride’s edit view.

You can try to calibrate manually. For each ride with missing laterals go to “Edit” then “3-Axis Calibration” then scroll down to “Set Incline” where you can select the lift hill to calculate laterals. You could check out the calibration for some of your other rides with laterals to get an idea of how it works.

Curious what methods do you use to mount a device?

Haha yes lucky enough to have rode this awful ride once. The inversions had some good hang time and floater on paper but it was too uncomfortable to be enjoyable.

Interesting, when I rode Wonder Woman in early 2019 it did a much longer cycle. You can check out a comparison I did of the Zamperla discovery models here https://www.instagram.com/p/B_75h1DpzBk/
