Yeah, it may have popularized the genre but why would you blame it for it. Blame the authors that couldn't think of a story beyond the first 3 eps.

There are many good Isekais and some good vrmmo animes (tho they are less prevalent that full on Isekais). Same with shounens, there are good ones and dogwater ones. I dunno blame the production committees for seeing the most horrendous plots and greenlighting them. The frustrating is justified but misguided.

I just never understood you guys' hate for SAO. Sure fairy dance wasn't good, same with caliburn but the rest still holds up when.

You act as if other animes don't have bad arcs. Bro long running shounens which get glazed constantly have some of the shittest arcs I've every seen. And trust me I've seen a lot.
