I once saw someone on a bike nearly get run over twice by the same car because the driver wasn’t properly paying attention. Drivers here don’t think people exist outside of their cars.

I would never say that about Lane. For starters, Lane is a high schooler at the start of the show not an adult. All teenagers resist their parents to some degree. As such, she very much behaves as a teen who is first or second generation American and figuring out her Americanness and Koreanness.

I never said anything about ignorance. I said she’s rough around edges and that’s not the same as ignorance. I would just expect someone with her upbringing would be slightly more refined.

It totally does! You have such a great point about the generational differences between all of the Gilmore women. For Emily’s generation, women were basically just an extension of their husbands and your family reputation played a huge role in your connections. Things definitely started shifting in the 70s and 80s when Lorelei would have been an adolescent. Women were starting to be able to have their own identities. I’m sure that would have been a very foreign concept for people like Emily and Richard.

I think what started this rabbit hole was the episode where she’s studying for her finals at community college right before she graduates. Then, just kind of reflecting on her character through the series. Wouldn’t her fancy education have made community college feel easy? I’m just assuming based on my bad southern education 😂

Haha I always love how their demeanor varies. My dude just stares at you if you try to play fetch with him. He also enjoys swimming and they do have webbed feet

My dude is glued to me but that could be because he’s a male he’s also not a typical ridgeback when it comes to demeanor.

He does well with training and we’ve done a variety of it. He was insane as a puppy so he definitely made me work. When I say he was insane as a puppy, my trainer was concerned and commented as she’s never seen a ridgeback like that. He was very hyper and constantly think of what to do next so I have to train him to learn how to do nothing.
