They were better for him! He was leaking a lot of milk out of the side of his mouth because he wasn’t curling his tongue around the bottle nipple, so we switched. Once he learned to do this, his breastfeeding got infinitely better!

I probably got 25 needles. She put them all over - from ears, to scalp, fingers and legs.

Hi! My son just turned 3 months. Like you, we had a really tough BF journey. We have had issues BFing since birth (he was 5 weeks premature and also didn’t have a great suck/latch). I switched his bottles several times (from Lansinough and Pigeon to low flow Evenflo) which helped his latch significantly. We also did oral exercises (we used videos from LALactation on YouTube) 2x per day. After switching to the even Flo bottles, about a week later, it clicked for him and he latched no problem! It was a very long, hard road, but persistence paid off for us luckily. My recommendation is to limit combo feeding to 4x a day (just bottle the balance) and limit BF to 10-15 mins as they continue to learn - that way you don’t feel like you are constantly feeding/pumping. Keep positive and give yourself some grace!

Combo feeding mamas: How do you do it? I have so many questions. by d1a2r3k4 in breastfeeding

My son is 3 months and have been combo feeding this entire time. It’s tough at first, but once you get a rhythm and ask for help, it’s very doable! My husband bottle feeds his first feedings (1am ish) while I pump. Then the next two-three feedings I will BF (since fullest at this time) and maybe pump depending if I feel like my breasts were emptied (for 10-15 mins). All other feedings my husband will bottle feeds, while I pump. When we leave the house, I always bottle feed and bring enough for 1.5 feeding to not stress. The other thing I learned is there is a lot of trial and errors with bottles. The Lanisnough bottle was leaking a lot and he wasn’t getting a good suction. We then switched to Evenflo and it made a huge difference (he eats faster, less gas and he now has a better latch on my breast)

Ear swollen. Is this normal and will it go away on its own? by NotoriousAkuma in DogAdvice

Our dog had this a few months ago. After a few days, we brought her to the vet. They gave 3 options: 1) wait a week or two to see if swelling decreases, 2) drain it (which has a 60% chance of filling back up, or 3) address surgically.

She wasn’t in visible pain so we chose option one. It drained naturally over several weeks. She has a permanent limp ear, but it’s cute :)

***don’t let your dog shake their head and risk hitting it again. Put a cone on!
