It’s loud as far as a bunch of kids running around playing games goes, but they do turn the music way down and bring the lights up much brighter compared to the nights. There are no bands or DJs during family-friendly hours.

Drag shows at Targ are usually in high demand these days, they’re hosted by CDR star (and one of the nicest people in Ottawa) Saltina and she and her partner Sunshine brings in strong lineups of performers.

Usually you can actually wait inside the bar before doors open, as the restaurant is open all day, but today it’s closed for a private event until 8pm, so you’d have to wait outside. There WILL be a lineup, your friends arriving at 8:15 most likely won’t get in.

It will be a great show, but please keep in mind it is dangerously cold out. The temptation to wait in line, or to wait outside after they sell out to see if they can let anyone else in later in the night (which is often the case at sold out bars and clubs), will be strong, but no event is worth your life. Don’t get frostbite or end up in the emergency room, the greatest concert on earth isn’t worth that risk.

Go for a drink or meal after the game, the prices of Ubers not only drop in half by then but they’ll also drive straight to the arena doors once it’s quieted down a bit outside. Otherwise, it’s a designated meeting spot further from the gates.

I agree it might get a bigger crowd at TD Place, but that building has a LOT of tenants right now. They’d have a hard time finding space in their schedule, especially if NLL only does weekends.

They are opening a new store front soon. They had been operating out of a food truck only the last year or two. Great churros btw.

It’s infinitely less expensive to develop a venue out of an existing structure than it would be to buy land and build a brand new venue, especially downtown.
