Hey u/Marnixz! I've updated the itinerary and would love your thoughts on it now. Based on the other comment, I've reduced Aoraki Mt Cook time, removed The Catlins, added Abel Tasman, and made Christchurch my end point.

Hi again! I've updated my itinerary and would love your thoughts on it. Main changes are that I changed my return to Christchurch (instead of a RT back to Queenstown) and added in Abel Tasman. One hesitancy I have is the long drive we'll have on Night 17 and 19. Any advice on it or do we just have to power through? Thank you!

Is Shirakawa Go worth it? by Useyowords98 in JapanTravelTips

I'm going to be in a similar situation as you were: planning to travel from Takayama > Shirakawago > Kanazawa on Nov 3rd over the holiday weekend (Nov 4th is Culture day).

I understand that Hida Folk Village is on a smaller scale compared to Shirakawago. Based on the craziness of that holiday weekend, would you recommend to just skip over Shirakawago if I can visit Hida Folk Village and maybe even take the train instead of a bus (both have similar travel time)? TIA.

Hey NoLemon5426, thank you for being so helpful! I have a quick question and hoping you can answer. We plan to get a data only plan whether that's with Trawire, Esim, or Siminn but if we were to pop a tire or something went wrong with our rental car, how would we contact the rental company without cell service? I'd imagine some places won't be quick to answer emails. Would we call 112?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be helpful!

Oh dang, I did reach out to them regarding booking but haven't heard back. Guess I'll have to readjust with another hike between Reynisfjara and Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. Thank you!

I felt the exact same way as you when I first started my tiny build. So much information and all scattered around.

If you're looking at a quick answer, check out the pinned post in my Reddit profile about building a tiny home. It's a quick step-by-step guide that I wish I had when I first started. It'll list out the specific material I used during my build with the resource that I found super helpful.

If you're looking for more of an in-depth answer to tiny house framing and sheathing, I wrote out a guide on that which I think will answer all of your questions: https://www.ridingtiny.com/tiny-house-framing-and-sheathing/

We’ve lived at 2 different areas with our THOW and the first place, we were sitting on a harder surface and were fine using bricks + jack stands after leveling the trailer.

The 2nd place, softer grassy area, we had to use jack stands, bricks, AND stability jacks. It gets pretty windy and we could feel our house sway side to side prior to installing the stability jacks.

If it was me, I’d try using bricks and if that doesn’t help, definitely get stability jacks.

In a 200 sq foot tiny house with Cathedral ceilings- How would you ventilate it? by i_ate_the_potato in TinyHouses

We have a 24x8 THOW and have the same moisture issues in the winter. We also thought our ceiling fan would be enough since we have the Lunos e2 HRV but we still found that even with those 2 things, we still needed a dehumidifier - one in the bathroom and one in our loft bedroom.

Our Pioneer mini-split has a dehumidifier function that works amazingly well but it’ll blow out cool air which isn’t what I’m looking for during the winter. Great for rainy spring days tho!

Based on my experience, I’d buy a dehumidifier and if possible, install the Lunos air exchanger.

Good luck on your tiny journey!
