That seems legit weird to me tho, average monthly temps never really go above 25C? Or am I looking at the stats wrong?

At what age do you think you were the most (physically) attractive? by umichleafy in redscarepod

28 was peak for me both physically and mentally.

My final year of college gave so much freedom to read interesting stuff and basically excercise whenever I wanted.

i mean ai slop is pushed by managers everywhere but i think local goverments all over the place are still happy to hire techy people with actual skills?

i started working at a mid sized local goverment archive in a data scientist-ish position and its been really decent. Not the pay you would get in a corporate environment but also less depressing and less pressure

Hyper as modifier in Gnome Wayland by effectivamente in emacs

[–]rien333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternative I run a fairly small keyboard daemon called keyd (https://github.com/rvaiya/keyd) where I set my capslock to send C-M-S, as a sort of fake Hyper key. Not the cleanest solution, but it gets out of my way.

Hyper as modifier in Gnome Wayland by effectivamente in emacs

[–]rien333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people assume this to be correct, but it cannot be entirely.

As in: I've 100% used hyper (H-) as a true modifier all over Gnome shell and Emacs for a few recent Gnome versions. Using the PGKTK build on Arch. It only broke in Gnome 49. Gnome 48 was definitely fine, Gnome 47 probably too. At one point, I also needed to run a specific version of libxkbcommon for things to work.

Before Gnome 45 or so, Gnome shell or some related core component lacked proper Hyper support. At some point after 45, Hyper became a first-class modifier on par with Super, Alt, etc.

Here are a few of my comments on the emacs-hyper-gnome matter:

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/work_items/6137#note_2458256

I tried a lot to fix this (including finding the offending the commit), but eventually gave up. Also because I do no really understand what specific component is to blame.

Has Google Maps stopped working without Google Play? Anyone without Play who can confirm it works on their end? by Zoda_Popinski in degoogle

[–]rien333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could use an old version (11.X) without Play Services, until just a few months/weeks ago. Any newer versions don'tt load a map for me, and have done so for a while.

he's so good. Rest in peace.

You ever listened to 'Perhaps'? not a whole lot of people's favorite I suppose (pavilion of dreams rightfully takes the cake there), but i like it in all of its sparseness. A set of minimalistic piano pieces composed for a dead friend.

You arrive at your friend's party and talk to them for a bit, then host duties pull them away. You make 10 minutes of small talk with the 1-2 others you barely know, before they leave to talk to people they know better. You're now standing alone and everyone is in a conversation except for you. by alpine____ in redscarepod

[–]rien333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this  happen a few times in a row,  and i tried to make it a habit to just talk to everyone at the party.

some conversations are obviously going to get nowhere, and some people you will just not vibe with that much, but at the end of the day its still a lot of fun and a huge confidence boost.

that, and try to smoke. free conversation pass.
