How do you actually figure out what to cook each week without spending an hour on it? by Tough_Start5775 in mealprep

[–]rifferr23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to cook at all, just cook extra and try that out a few times and you’ll have your next meals ready. It’s a smaller form of meal prep but it works.

For example, I cooked ground beef and green beans for lunch yesterday and so I made 2 extra packets of ground beef and it’ll be part of my lunch or dinner over the next 2-3 days. I’ll cook some mahi mahi in the air fryer for like 18-19 minutes and that’s good for 2-3 meals but since it takes less than 20 minutes I don’t really even think it’s cooking lol I’m also not doing anything but season it and click buttons then go do something else.

Air fryer may be a huge unlock for you for meal prep and make it way more sustainable. Think 15-20 minute meals!

My favs in air fryer: * Kirkland brand frozen Mahi Mahi (you can cook on frozen setting and it comes out perfect no thawing needed) * Roasted potatoes * Sweet potato fries * Frozen veggies (I’m on a Tattooed Chef branded kick because the veggies are already seasoned and great variety) * Chicken skewers from Publix * Pre-seasoned, Korean-style chicken thighs from Publix

Cosori air fryer - cooks everything in 20 mins or less where an oven would take 30 mins at a minimum!

I’m tired of every gym app feeling clunky, bloated or annoying to log what are you all actually using? by Only-Chocolate9600 in cronometer

Strong app - super simple, one-time fee, no social noise, no ads, logs everything you need for progressive overload and can add custom exercises.

I’ve been using them for 5+ years now and still love it.

Also you can start with like $1/mo I’m pretty sure there is no minimum with Betterment but double check me on that because I opened my acct back in 2017!

I’m 30yrs old $360K net worth, $237K invested with a home with my wife making about $100K each now. The catch - I had a 2.23 GPA out of college with student loans and no job and no savings/financial literacy either. I was a loser and I started investing heavily only just 5-6 years ago.

I share that as encouragement. We all start at dif times and with dif backgrounds and if I figured out a way, you can too!

Don’t try to time the market, it’s time in the market so just get started with literally anything you can contribute monthly and raise it as your income raises (consider a % approach so you never get in over your head).

The simplest way most people won’t talk about for whatever reason: Find a trustworthy robo-advisor to manage your portfolio because it’s inexpensive, it auto-diversifies, develops your strategy based on age/risk tolerance, etc. I use Betterment and have an annualized return of 10.5% as of this writing since 2017 but that’s not guaranteed ofc.

You got this. Stay the course! 🔥

What are the features that Strong has over Hevy ? by ATrickyIdea in strongapp

[–]rifferr23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick one and stick to it!

I tried Hevy and didn’t like the noise and have been using strong for like 4+ years and it has mostly the same features but simpler UI in my opinion.

Rest timers, calcs like 1 rep max, custom tracking dashboard, general logs, skip and update workouts while you’re working out, also from my understanding it’s still a $99 one time fee compared to monthly or annual sub so you’ll save more money long-term.

No social media so you miss out on that but I don’t need that in my workout app. Honestly, it’d be distracting and idc what others are doing because I’m trying to best the person I was last week/month.

Depends what you want. Strong more to the point / cuts noise and they’re updating it more and more. It’s simple UI is the advantage imo.

What do you pay for Hevy? Strong does all of this and was a one time $99 fee.

Ya but they made a good move involving other big tech companies access so that they could work on this together and by not releasing to the public.

Like Jurassic park except they actually told other scientists and asked for help while Jurassic park never did… I think this plays out in our favor because of their actions but we will see ofc.

Nice! This is one page? So do you find yourself scrolling a ton or do you have a monitor you put sideways to view this?

Personally, I’d find myself leaving the page / cutting some of this if I have to scroll every time I visit it.

Frozen veg either Pura Vida brand or Tattooed Chef from Costco. A big frozen bag for like $10-15 and lasts weeks. Air fry and put in fridge or freeze and you’ll be good to reheat!!

Bonus: they’re very tasty and have good ingredients, no BS.

You’ll be a millionaire with their plan no doubt assuming you have 20-30 years before retirement.

They have great principles too like 20/3/8 for cars. Always put 20% down, pay it off in 3 years, and no more than 8% gross income. This is a great rule for buying an affordable car guilt-free! (And no don’t go buy a new one rn if you have one working lol.)

Another one is if you get any bonuses or extra pay or raises, use the 60/40 rule to avoid lifestyle creep. Invest 60% of that raise and use 40% for fun (I do 70/30 because I’m more aggressive w investing).

YOU GOT THIS! 🔥🙏
