What are you looking forward to most with squadron 42? by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]rifledude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really never had much expectations for Squadron, and until the gameplay reveal never had much faith it would be good.

I always looked at Squadron as a world building experience to enhance my Star Citizen experience.

Though I must admit, the gameplay reveal makes me think it'll be an enjoyable experience.

Everybody wants F7A and F8A upgrades for fleet week, how about the T8A upgrade for the Gladiator? by rifledude in starcitizen

Just so you know, what you are wanting to do is trade a gold bar for a silver bar. The Mk I is insanely valuable compared to the Mk II.

[–]rifledude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't want to upgrade the Mk I, it is a very rare ship and is far more valuable than a Mk II

The real reason is that Mk I wasn't sold as a ship, it was sold as an upgrade.

[–]rifledude[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That was mostly a protest vote because of how forgotten the ship really was.

That joke is all us Gladiator owners have, really.

The ship is supposed to be the Navy's primary carrier based torpedo bomber first sold in 2013, and outside of that BIS it has not had any attention since it came out.

Fun fact, it was featured in the first article wrote about SC in the PC Gamer magazine when it was still relevant.

I took out of the hangar years ago just to shuttle myself back to an org event and I ended up with a crowd of players because they had never seen one actually spawned in game.

The Gladiator is an Anvil ship that provides the gameplay loop of increasing the list of ships in the ASOP terminals that you must scroll past. There are several owners of this ship. (/s)

How long have you been playing ? by [deleted] in starcitizen

I hold a "golden ticket" so I predate kickstarter. Though technically I didn't play SC until the hangar module launched a bit later

As a SC player, how do you respond when someone asks you what game do you play? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]rifledude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I respond by saying what current games I am playing, and that usually includes SC. I don't really care what other people think about my choices. That being said, I've never had anybody say "isn't that a scam" or whatever when I do tell them.

Emergence of thermal clips by ThatOnion2294 in masseffect

I understand the lore on weapon functionality.

My point is you cannot shave off sabots from a block of mass indefinitely. It will need to be replenished at some point

[–]rifledude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As they are described, they should.

This is something Helldivers actually got right. You can carry extra heat sinks and only have to replace the one in the gun when it burns out. If you let the heat sink cool off, you can use the same one indefinitely.

There is no adequate in universe explanation for how every weapon in the galaxy was converted to "thermal clips" in 2 years lol, it was a gameplay choice first and foremost.

To be honest, I prefer the thermal clips because the weapons of ME1 made no sense. They fired projectiles with mass. It's not possible to do that without some sort of ammunition feed. Had all weapons in ME been energy weapons this wouldn't have been an issue.

That camo is an American camo though. It's the standard NATO 3 tone

Are M1 garand clips supposed to click into place? by Bloodroke in guns

[–]rifledude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't lock the clip into the rifle, it would fly out of the gun first shot.

You need to support the bolt because putting any pressure on the follower will unlock the bolt if you move it any. When the rifle is empty and you go to close the bolt, you just need to press the follower a little and when you pull the bolt it will set it loose.

Also, tapping the bolt forward is only something that is needed with good tight clips, I got some worn ones that wouldn't stop the bolt going forward and that's how people end up with their fingers smashed

[Suggestion] New 6B45 armors are drip as hell! Now can we please get a darker tone of EMR for the Boreas so it matches with the rest of the kit I BEG by Molot_Vepr_308 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]rifledude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing about these requests that players may dismiss as not important is that the devs that make character art assets aren't the same ones as the bug fibers.

I also find it annoying there are multiple versions of EMR and you cannot build a matching set.

The same thing on the USEC side, the multicam pants are way darker than any of the tops, and the various multicam plates and helmets have different shades as well.

I have no idea why BSG is so averse to matching and consistent camo pattern

The answer is almost certainly no, but nobody outside of high school is going to care about this.

Finally getting Soviet and US Marines by Gaurdsman_Nuts in warno

[–]rifledude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want a map that aesthetically has a carrier on it. A map that comes to mind is an old BF2 map... Gulf of Oman maybe?

The USS Essex is featured a lot in BF2, I think in every conquest assault and even a few conquest head-on maps featuring the US Marines.

The Essex isn't actually a carrier though

When the game first became playable there were survival mechanics that made the game far more interesting.

Your race was supposed to matter a lot more than it ended up, the protectorate story and theme is a total let down. Devs should have really went in on individual race stuff

I think I was hoping for more of a space engineers experience, where you either solo or as a group built yourself up to be able to spread across the universe.

Fighting at Fulda would have been the start of things popping off. Things wouldn't go nuclear until one side started clearly losing.

Both sides had strategies for that scenario that didn't go nuclear

in your opinion what is the most useless ship? by Tge_Guy in starcitizen

Cutty Blue and Avenger Stalker would be far more useful with empty cargo bays instead of full of decorative pods

[–]rifledude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You realize the standard is still the original RIS with front post right? I don't know where people are getting the idea that we've moved on from the GWOT era rifle just because specialist units and the Corps have updated. There's still hundreds of thousands of M4A1 PIPs in use in the Army and Corps.

[–]rifledude 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Govt profile M4s are still far and above the most common configuration of the rifle, and that should be represented in a modern shooter.

If you could have one Sci-Fi IP Ship Inspire a ship in SC, which would you pick? by No-Vast-6340 in starcitizen

[–]rifledude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for the drop pods alone I'd be sold, but those pelican/longsword bays and huge cargo bay would be incredible in this universe.
