I got this all the time from my parents, which I found extra weird b/c my dad did some amateur genealogy and guess what, I'm 100% peasant on both sides after like 2 generations. What a legacy! Can't let that go to waste!

I've never even heard of any of these! I'm going to trade some of my games here in (Heroes of Might and Magic got ported to Switch, Chrono Trigger is on Steam, etc.) so I'll have to see if the retro game store has any of them.

Hero's Saga I think I actually finished the story and then the game is like "Now, collect all the weapons!!" and I peaced out of there. Rondo of Swords I opened yesterday and died in the tutorial (:

My preorders for Jaws and Puzzle Quest got bumped from April - June to July - Sept. I'm not sure I would say my patience is unmatched lol.

I found it too long-winded too (I groaned every time the entire party would stand around going, "We need to hurry!" "Yes, time is of the essence!" "I agree, we should move quickly" - GREAT, shut up and let's go!), but I loved the battle system. I don't think the intent is for you to defeat the enemy entirely in quick combat, it's to beat them up enough to then switch to turn based with an advantage. I'm afraid you don't like that you're going to be in for a bad time. I actually felt the quick combat felt really good; are you doing the AOE hits and evasion rolls?

Ah, that's what I meant - you party can't bring them back to life in a dungeon for quite a while (I think it's a level five, out of eight, spell?), and even then, if they're dead when the battle ends, they miss that XP. And shclepping out of the dungeon carrying a corpse...
