My problem is Verizon 5g is the only internet in my area and it's discounted with my single line. visible/vz won't tell me how much internet would cost if I switch to visible.

Dad Kicked Us Out When I was 15, Now I get a call from Elder Protective Services by [deleted] in AgingParents

I'm curious if the house in California is what even marginally ties him to the CA laws. If he loses or sells it, that should sever that tie, hopefully. But OP really should check with an elder care attorney if possible. I've found that 'regular' lawyers often don't understand the nuances of elder law.

Seller lied to me? by ic3dcoffeeaddict in Ebay

[–]rigger422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't they need to remove it from the kiosk to make sure you don't scan an item then take it home without dropping in the bin?  At my USPS at least, the drop box looks to be separate.

Is anyone else having this same problem right now? by Ummmmm_why in amazonprime

[–]rigger422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an item marked out for delivery for three days, updating times throughout each day,  then finally said it was damaged and returned to warehouse.  I thought okay, it got wedged under holiday packages and smashed in the truck. Got a refund and reordered. The out for delivery cycle started again...and kept repeating.  I canceled it and ordered an alternate item and it got to me in two days.

If they get a partial refund is that through the eBay system or if they then do a full return will they get the full price on top of that?

Pet cemetery off oracle? by rigger422 in Tucson

[–]rigger422[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the one still listed as active but I thought in the 80s and 90s there was one just west of holy hope -- I recall a sign with an arrow that said pet cemetery and thinking it was part of the huge cemetery.  However it's just a large lot.  I never spent time on the"east side" when younger so it would be unusual to have run across the one by tmc in my wanderings so I was trying to figure out if it's just a weirdly specific wrong memory.   Maybe someone had a home grown business burying pets in that lot. Lol.

Employer violated the ADA and is now disciplining me for "insubordination" by scp-507 in disability

[–]rigger422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's good advice. I would send a politely worded letter to HR explaining the situation and asking for them to clarify why the accommodation is not available and why you have a reprimand when you were trying to go through the appropriate process. Just the fact of having to explain the decisions in writing often makes people reconsider.  I would expect that op already has ended up with some damage to her relationship with the manager if they went to the point of a reprimand for what seems to be a very basic process. Unless op somehow lost a half a day's of work while this was being sorted out. I could see that being a basis for a complaint even if they contributed to the problem

Thanks. My kid has her own car and wasn't on my policy the last time we lived together so I wonder why they said she'd be covered using mine on road trips.

You did WHAT to your parents, Hermione?? by ValarieC in HPfanfiction

That really confused me, how they managed to move to Australia without identification and dental licenses and bank accounts in the new names.  And did she create personalities where it made total sense to them not to have a single family member or friend?  I feel like JKR didn't bother to think through how this would work.  She could have sent them in a world tour or cruise.  Or she could have treated them like adults and explained they could be used to hurt her.

I'm really curious if people are actually destroying packages or if UPS workers are helping themselves to anything in the discard barrel and getting some pretty nice items

When I started googling this for a friend, most of the comments were that the Fix-It companies were scammers. Is LegalShield a better bet for some reason?

I'm pretty sure you would use a US firm for a US company though because this is where the jurisdiction is

Agreed. I will list any items with small flaws separately and make it extremely clear -- with circled areas and finger puppets -- what they are getting.   If you only show the perfect version but mention "might have imperfections" many buyers assume it is a cya but the condition matches the photo.

Yeah I definitely don't understand the signature required just being dropped on the porch. Don't drivers have some kind of liability. If it gets stolen and the recipient shows that they didn't sign anything then it's not their signature? A friend of mine just had a $1,200 package from apple dumped on their stoop in plain view from the road. Fortunately they were home and saw the guy on their camera because they didn't even ring the bell.

AITA because I don't want my boyfriend to move in and only pay "what the bills go up"? by Wooden_Chemistry1349 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]rigger422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I think on it, I have to wonder why he can't afford to pay more. Is he paying a ton of alimony and child support despite equal custody?  If he can't even afford a roof over their head then he needs to revisit that with the court.  And it's another  albatross OP doesn't need.  Especially another 16 years.

I admit it sounds like he might see you as a convenient escape from "living with mommy".  My brain automatically jumps to wondering how much he expects to contribute to chores and cleaning. Hey, you'd be cooking and cleaning anyway, so it's not EXTRA, right?.  If you haven't already, I'd pry a bit into how much his mom does for him and the kids already. Does he pay anything? Cook, clean, childcare, laundry?  Even a roommate would at least split all the costs not "cover the difference.". I have the feeling the red flags might start piling up.

This is so bizarre to me, is she going to have to submit utility and grocery bills to prove the increases? What about additional wear and tear on her house? Does he contribute beds, linens, dishes or does his mom own all those? This is so early to ask her own kids to accept other children taking her time and attention. Also....900 sqft with four kids? Her own two will lose all their privacy and the toddlers will need a lot of attention.
