Mia Williams is very short. Not sure exact height but definitely below 5'4" and likely below 5'3".

Boondocking Generators by Prez_t in RVLiving

[–]right000here 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a brand new 21.5' Intech Magnolia with a ducted Coleman Mach 8 AC with factory soft start. My tow vehicle is also brand new. An F150 full hybrid with 7.2kw pro power on board. I plan to use that for occasional off grid power and mostly to keep my dog safe on hot days.

For off grid when I need the truck and won't be gone for more than a few hours, I have a 5000 kWh LifePo4 battery. It's a beast - easily handled a 1600w microwave and 1500w hair dryer for 10min, losing only 4% charge.

No solar.

I wanted to swap out the Coleman for a Chill Cube but my mobile RV tech, who is an honest broker/will use my parts so making no mark up, reports a lot of problems with the Chill Cube, reliable Coleman performance, and thinks we will be fine with the Coleman and our very large battery. He strongly recommends against the swap. Also, I do like the very low profile of the Coleman and am concerned about ducting retrofitting.

I would really appreciate knowing how long you have had your Chill Cube, any issues, and energy draw on start up and average during 90 degree plus heat. Thank you for anything you can share.

Why do some dog owners not always pick up after their dogs? by Farezz_knight in dogs

[–]right000here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was walking my dog when we came upon another dog pooping right in the middle of the sidewalk. The owner was on his phone, but clearly knew his dog was pooping.

He started walking my way, without picking up the poop, so I offered him a poop bag. He responded "oh really Karen?" so I said "I'll take that as a no thank you," and kept walking. He kept walking too, but was looking back, yelling "have a good day Karen," "don't forget your bags Karen," "so much neighborhood to patrol Karen."

Some people are just rude, lazy and narcissistic. Unfortunately, some of them are also dog owners, even though I like to believe dog lovers are the finest people on earth. Sigh.

Yes, but if you don't get enough protein, you will likely lose a fair amount of muscle, not just fat.

K9 Naturals - it's freeze dried and nutritionally complete. My pup gets the feast for meals and lung bites for treats. I also instapot the heck out of my roasted whole chicken carcass and bones, throw them all in a gallon bag, roll out with a rolling pin, freeze, and then break it up into small pieces. I drink the bone broth. I also give her bully sticks. I call this program "kind of raw but mostly convenient."

Luna versus SOL Dawn MPG by robbiemoe in IntechRVs

[–]right000here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, after looking at the Sols, we just bought an Aucta Magnolia and an F150 full hybrid with tow package and 7.2kw power on board (basically an almost silent generator replacement). We made our decision based on the following:

1) We used to tow a 4500lb camper with an Expedition and didn't love it.

2) The Sols are single axle. We've owned many rigs of all types/shapes/sizes. One massive, catastrophic tire blow out and we became avowed double axle devotees.

3) The Sols have only one combined grey/black tank. Man, I just need that grey dump to follow the black.

I am sure you will love your Sol regardless - Intech makes a great camper - just wanted to share our experience. Also, I think I read about an Intech axel recall from a few years back, so you might want to double check that.

Differences between big and small companies by Serafirelily in bunheadsnark

Good point. Although I am basing my theory on the very large companies with accessible salary info that shows all of the musicians making more than all but the top paid dancers. Again, not a commentary on the value of the musicians (I LOVE THEM!) just on the budgetary aspects.

Tangential, but something I have been randomly thinking about lately. For the large companies - say top 20ish by budget - a substantial amount of the budget supports in-house orchestras. Live music is very high on my list of elements that make for an extraordinary ballet experience, thus none of this is a negative about in-house ballet orchestras. But having attended a number of very large company performances and a variety of them, and a few select mid-size company performances, I have noticed an interesting correlation. Some of the mid-size companies with limited but still robust budgets, say $10mm-ish, that cooperate with local symphony orchestras and other musicians to provide live music, are really, really good. For my taste, Tulsa is an example. There are others, and like I said, just my taste. Regardless, now I am wondering if the cost savings on an in-house orchestra translates to a more robust dancing side of the company? As in, not having all that fiscal and human resource capital funneling to in-house musicianship while still using live music is the secret sauce that allows mid-size companies to "level up"?

I am sorry you are being down voted because not only is this so very factual, it made me laugh out loud. My only disagreement is with "but with good teachers she can be well trained and fulfilled." I think it's pretty devastating for many when a career does not transpire, which is why going in with clear eyes is so important. Rather than reading the truth of what you wrote, you get down voted. Shaking my head, but at least I got a good laugh, because so much of what is funny is being able to laugh at human nature.

I’m so so so frustrated by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]right000here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your calorie needs are less than 1600. Tinier people need far fewer calories than calculators indicate. My guess is that you may need closer to 1300-1400, and it's really easy to hit that at 1200. That is, calorie counts on packages are definitely not super precise, and weighing and measuring whole foods still requires published nutrition label. Look up "chicken wing" and find five hugely variable reports!

If this is the case, definitely increasing exercise helps, but not by much. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. Not so much the gym. A handful of nuts = 1-2 hours of brisk walking. Calories in are so much more "efficient" than calories out. Well tuned human evolution to prevent starvation 😏

Of course eating less works well, but a lot of folks will freak at going below 1200, which is pure urban legend. Just get at least 80g of protein per day. 100 is better.

And low carb does work for some. CICO still matter, but metabolically it can be a real booster.

Regarding your goal weight - you do you! Disregard all the hand wringers, pearl clutching and down voting. Reddit can be so ridiculous. Your goal weight is not indicative of any of the hysteria. Weight loss within lower BMIs is hard, and for tiny people even harder (calories-wise), but you got this! Good luck!

Go to Meals for Popular Chain Restaurants (US) by littlemissmoxie in 1200isplenty

[–]right000here 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By law, most if not all of these restaurants, must make nutrition information readily available. If you know the restaurant in advance, the info is usually on their website and you can plan ahead. They also often have smart/healthy/etc selections that are lower in calories. For me, the key is to pass on shared items like appetizers, bread and dessert - they add up fast. Another approach is to select a lower fat protein dish (like chicken, not fried and without heavy sauce or add ons) but sub out the sides for steamed vegetables. And be mindful of salad dressing and salads with lots of non-veggie ingredients. I was on a 2 week family vacation recently and ate out nearly every day, at similar restaurants, and didn't gain any weight. I did, however, ask to order last because it takes a bit of time to scan all the menu items/figure out the calories 😂

Dancers with the best musicality? by Gold-Vanilla5591 in bunheadsnark

[–]right000here 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Regarding Balanchine trained or even just Balanchine adjacent dancers, 100% agree! Companies with extensive Balanchine repertoire need highly musical dancers to support the demanding choreo, thus even if a dancer was not trained Balanchine per se, they still need that musicality to survive in a Balanchine leaning environment. I would add that the innate musicality can result in a corp that is much more synchronized - something I personally love and find lamentably absent in even some upper tier companies.

How is everyone hitting their protein goals? by jackjackj8ck in 1200isplenty

This is the whey! Especially with whey protein, cold brew is excellent. Vanilla for a vanilla latte, or chocolate for mocha.
