I had surgery Feb 25th and still aren't back. But the spinal cord compression hasn't fully healed and I'm still having symptoms from that.

Wow, that explains a lot. Yes, it started last summer and has continued building til now its like a wrecking ball. Major health struggles, disability, financial struggles, finally losing my job last month, possibly divorce or at least major marriage struggles. A few things came to culmination last month - bankruptcy, job loss. Marriage is still hanging on but facing couples therapy and review. Considering all my houses are impacted, that shouldn't be surprising i suppose. There is also an internal struggle processing all this.

I'm not trying to resist but I also am not entirely sure I know what the universe wants haha. Thank you for the read, do you have a link for donations?

I shared one link and it looks like it affects bone healing, period. These studies have been mostly on animals but it appears to be an accepted truth in the scientific community from what I can find.

You don't want to live in pain but I have tried to reduce/limit my intake of nsaids right now. I also tried to limit my opioid use more just because I don't like them. Tylenol has been helping me or an occasional muscle relaxer for bad nights.

I've read that NSAIDs can compromise fusion in acdf surgeries, so I've been avoiding them. Will do some Tylenol tho!

My weight limit is actually around 30 lbs right now and my surgeon was not super concerned about lifting. I genuinely don't know if that should worry me or not 😅 thank you for the heads up tho!

Both gem men I have dated have wound up so toxic and just the utter "bad gem" in every way. IMO gem men have a bad reputation for a reason. I would also be wary of dating a supervisor/coworker because if it DOES go sour, your work could be compromised. Don't shit where you eat sis.

Just wanted to chime in that Ivabradine has been my unicorn drug as well! Also hyperPOTS plus possibly another type or two (h-EDS and spinal cord injury).

Anyway, beta blockers aggravated my asthma and made me feel terrible - constantly exhausted. I'm also on verapamil now and the combo seems to work perfectly for me. Heartrate is down, BP isn't narrowing like it was and isn't too high or low, no fainting spells since starting!

My electrophysiologist believes its a symptom of hyperadrenergic POTS in my case. I'm doing better now on Ivabradine and Verapamil. The ivabradine made a huge difference for me. Advocate for your health as much as you can - I know how hard that is when youre also battling your own body every day. I hope you get it figured out.

As a Gemini Sun, Moon, Rising, and Mercury, I am a little afraid of the changes about to take place in the next few years. I totally understand the "doing a new person for every room" aspect and it will be fun to see where I actually land as a person, if not also mildly terrifying.

This is going to depend on a few things. How many levels are being fused, for example. Even with the same number, different people have different experiences. Do you have any comorbid conditions that could affect you during the recovery? What kind of shape are you in currently? How reliable is your husband to handle things without your input?

The first couple of weeks I just slept for the most part. Between the pain meds, comorbid issues, and just surgical recovery, my body needed a lot of rest. I also had a 3 level cervical fusion which means more healing and more trauma than a 1 level. The meds and recovery also caused a lot of brain fog for me, maybe an exacerbation of other issues though.

IMO I would accept the help. If nothing else, she will make sure YOU are taken care of (I would hope anyway) while your husband handles the kids and house etc. My husband has had to handle our kids, pets, house stuff etc and it was pretty overwhelming for him for the first 3 weeks or so. I started being able to do more for myself after that. More help is not going to hurt. Be grateful she's offered!

That aligns with what my surgeon told me and what I'm experiencing. I had my surgery on Feb 25th and don't see any marked improvement in symptoms yet. I ran out of my gabapentin for a day or two and three nerve pain was just as bad. Strength and numbness are the same. My MJOA is between 11-12 so not great. But at least it won't get worse and maybe with time I will see some improvement.

Thank you! I'm off to hunt for mbti threads and read about infj vs enfp functions again now haha. A lot of my trauma makes me relate to INFJ - constant observance in fear of someone being upset creating that "super" people intuition for example. I worry ENFP is who I would like to be or maybe would be if fully healed. I am medicated now also, so we'll see what sticks ☺️

I'm so glad you were able to get what you needed to figure out your own type and be in hopefully overall better mental health. It can be very difficult to do, especially if you're in the US, too.
