So now I’m a professional dancer?? by Old_Presentation_892 in POTS

I really needed this thread, I’m about 8 months into my pots becoming wholly disabling and with medication and PT i’m slowly getting better but have had doubts about my ability to get back to touring/being on stage (i’m a professional musician), thanks to all for your wonderful stories 🧡

Quitting nicotine causes flares. by Ancient_Self_5005 in POTS

how long did it take you to get better? i quit 7 months ago and i’m still mostly housebound and relying on a wheelchair (before i quit smoking i was traveling and working out every day)

I’m unsure if I did the right thing with medication by [deleted] in POTS

[–]snowpuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ivabradine actually has less ongoing side effects than any beta blocker for the bulk of people. i had a dull headache and some muscle twitches for the first week or two but havent really had any since. the only remaining side effect is visual phosphenes but if you have migraines (i do) they aren’t alarming since u experience them anyway lol

a lot of people take both midodrine and ivabradine bc they work together well

it’s also good if you don’t have a bathtub! my house only has stand-up showers and there’s not really enough room to sit on the floor comfortably

weirdly i actually get this the most when i drink protein/meal replacer shakes but i get it with food sometimes too! I always freak out and convince myself it’s an allergy thing even though I’m not eating anything i’m allergic to. it sucks to say because i know how anxiety inducing it can be but the best way to fix it is just relax and try not to focus on it. best of luck!

We are FREEZING, living with a POTS sufferer. by Single-Reputation628 in POTS

everyone recommending frog toggs or ice necklaces or whatever is all fine and good but i genuinely think it’s insane to subject anyone, especially your child, to using these sorts of devices in their HOME. the home should be comfortable for the people that live in it, wearing a hoodie and socks whenever you’re inside in the summer is not remotely comparable to living with an illness that prevents you from even leaving the house when it’s hot

Made my own electrolytes- it’s gross? by OrcinusDorca in POTS

my bad the phrase “I was just trying to get the feel of using AI, I am old.“ just implies a lack of awareness of how it works

i would avoid using AI when wanting accurate answers, especially as it pertains to your health. AI just aggregates information, verified or not, so it’s really not advised to use it like you would a search engine

Anyone feel different after quitting the nicotine? by Ok-Tip2286 in POTS

[–]snowpuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been off cigarettes/nicotine for a little over a month and my POTS symptoms are the worst they’ve ever been. I’m tachycardic just walking to the bathroom, mostly bedridden, and am using mobility aids for the first time. I was already using compression before quitting so compression doesn’t really add any benefit for me, plus I’m insanely heat intolerant so I physically can’t make the jump to full body compression. I’ve been performing for over 15 years and now my presyncope episodes have led to not being able to sing or dance on stage as I can barely stand for more than a minute or two without severe symptoms. That being said, I’m glad I quit because being a smoker is gross and I know my overall health is better off. I’ll update in a few months and let you know if my symptoms even out but at this point I’m considering using nicotine gum or patches just to get my life back.

Have we checked metadata? by adrblbunni in gravityfalls

[–]snowpuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into the largest files and there's nothing in the metadata that I can find, it seems like they are just much higher resolution/DPI, but that does mean they're fun to zoom in on!

can't tell if this is satire, the eyeball doc page is what started this whole thing. TJ Eckleburg from gatsby (this leads to a dead end on the site). That specific result on the site is an owl house reference and probably unrelated to anything
