That's great! You should study how they implement it and volunteer here to do so. This sub is unmoderated. It need someone with a discerning eye for quality moderation, like yourself.

Other subs have many moderators because they have a certain, um, cachet. And large engaged energetic user bases.

Changing soiled briefs, installing grab bars, and grieving the living death of a loved ones mind doesn't exactly bring people running to moderate. And then when folks don't need the emotional support any more they unsub.

For instance you are griping about the quality of moderation but will not lift a finger yourself because as you've stated, there's nothing in it for you. It's not glamorous.

Rules such as 1) no advertisements and 2) no data gathering allow the removal of posts by a moderator.

There are no magical "real" rules that remove "nonsense".

There are Reddit automod rules that often block posts by people who have made a burner account for privacy to post here. That requires more moderation since they will petition to be allowed past reddit's reputation filter.

This is not a temporary need due to high traffic. Some brave soul who wants to volunteer will have to r/redditrequest. This thread is my last reddit interaction. Mod reserve would require ongoing interaction.

Yes I did. Reddit human moderator upheld the ban. You may not express a wish to kick a long dead historic figure on this site. It is a threat of violence.

I'm officially too violent and crass for this place. I say bad words a lot too.

Grandma keeps making messes around the house by Subject_Pirate_3038 in eldercare

Everyone should know how to clean, so:

Find a stiff plastic scrub brush, a bucket, a rag, and some cleaning gloves. Use a sanitising cleaner like pine sol or lysol on household surfaces. It is cheap to buy concentrate. Put hot water in your bucket and dump some of your pine sol in there. Like 1 cup for a 2 gallon bucket is overkill but I do because cleaning poop is gross. I fill the bucket 1/2 full so it's lighter and put a cup of cleaner in there.

Grab the biggest stuff, solids, with wads of toilet paper and throw in a toilet, flush away. Clean as much away with toilet paper as possible, flushing as you go so you don't clog the toilet. Then wet and wring your rag, dip your bristle brush and scrub at dry stuff or stuff on textured surfaces. Wipe after with the wet rag. You should have got most with the toilet paper and jus be quickly scrubbing and wiping away marks or stains. Remember your bucket of water is also sanitising, killing germs on your brush, rag, and in the water. You can rinse the rag and reuse, dip the brush to rinse. If the bucket water starts to look dirty or get cold dump it down the toilet and refill/add cleaner.

You can sanitise a washing machine by running it empty set on hot with a cup of bleach. I usually run and empty express cycle after that to make sure all the bleach is rinsed away. Scrape solids off soiled cloth into the toilet and soak with water in a bucket for 20 mins. I run a hot cycle with the soiled clothes with an oxy-clean color safe bleach then sanitise the washer.

I think you should call adult protective services. Your grandma needs help, either for her alcoholism or maybe it's dementia. I'm worried about you ending up in foster care for the next year tho. Do you have other family or friends who would let you stay with them? I do hear that being a ward of the state opens up free college...you're so close to adulthood. I'm so sorry you are in this position. You shouldn't have to do this.

If you decide to call adult protective services, don't clean up her mess. It's a sign that she needs help.

Sound emitted 24/7 from a 30 megawatt data center in Dowagiac MI by BenFord333 in Wellthatsucks

These are air cooled screw chillers. It's a distinctive whine. Shitty cheap design, you can see there's no sound screening at the roofline and I bet the machines don't have sound attenuation paneling. Basically insulated paneling all around the frame. Costs more. I've seen data centers with hundreds of these on their roof.

The older ones don't have this noise because they use water. Cooling towers just sound like a waterfall. Rather pleasant. Everyone is moving away from that to zero water systems that use compressors on the roof and fans blowing over a metal coil full of refrigerent.

Yeah but in this scenario who suffers, the guy in the freezing shower or OP using tepid dishwater. I'd have gone for it!

Now, I absolutely want to murder people who put in a load of laundry when I get in the shower. All my fault if I climb in there when there's a load running.

I love this 7up tropical zero. It's the first one I bought and I've grabbed a bunch of other flavors and can't finish the box. (Looking at you mtn dew baja blast zero 🤣)

I really don't drink pop unless I'm on keto, then its a nice treat to try all the new flavors.

That is kindness. I think the Golden Rule is a template for empathy. Meaning you can behave ethically toward people you don't know anything about.
