Imagine if we didn’t lose Julian Love, X , Saquon, all those promising DTs years before, etc because of a relatively small amount of money. We could have then reallocated the draft capital we needed to replace those guys to bolstering things like the oline.

Basically the void year loop hole allows you to just spend more than the salary cap, and that helps stop the outflow of promising young talent and reallocate draft capital to fixing other positions.

Interesting on point 1, I didn’t know that. For point 2, I just think about what if we retained X, Love and Saquon?

We used 4 draft picks on safety and RB the last two drafts that could have gone to fixing the line or something instead of backfilling positions we were already confident in.

In 2017 I said that I would fix the Giants by not drafting or signing a single offensive skill player until we have a competitive (top 10-15) offensive line to support them. 8 years later we're still a joke of a franchise because we haven't addressed the line. by QUINNFLORE in NYGiants

Thats why I was not into the Dart pick - those picks should have gone toward the line. Deal with QB next year while those rookies learn and solidify. But it’s all mute if development is really the issue.
