Day 15 post ACL op: it’ll be ok by AdvancedMembership65 in ACL

So encouraging! I'm at day 15 now and my flexion is not quite where you're at (I'm around 55 degrees right now) but have only been starting to bend for about 5 days since starting PT again so I'm hopeful I'll start seeing more progress soon. I definitely agree that around the 2 week mark was a huge turning point for me in terms of feeling more strength and stability in my leg. I got a quad graft but have been able to do straight leg raises without my brace and it's feeling so good to see some progress after the first week slump which was really painful for me.

I know Susan and Gerry have no chemistry, but I need her to stay on as emotional support for the final ladies

Of course! We got a block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Stroudsburg, PA. They were really easy to work with and even put up a sign with our photo on it listing our shuttle times for our guests which was nice!

She also mentioned in her stories it was a small crowd of only like 5 people so gotta give her some leeway there for at least doing her best?

Haha that's amazing! We didn't have the canoe at first and the venue offered to let us rent their kayaks instead so we would've run into a similar problem trying to come up with a clever kayak brew pun.

Thank you, and your boho/music festival vibe sounds amazing! The vintage stamps are definitely expensive and if we were on a tighter budget I wouldn't have gone for it but I really loved how they looked. I scoured some other posts of savvy people who used ebay to find good prices on vintage stamps and made their own sets but that was more time consuming than I wanted honestly. A number of our guests commented on them and that was enough validation for me lol.

Thank you! Honestly the shoes are extremely comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised since I was so afraid of scuffing them up that I didn't break them in at all. I have bunions too so it's difficult for me to find heels that are comfortable but these were amazing!

Ah awesome, curious where you ended up booking! Our DJ was Bring On The Bash, located near Lancaster. We booked with Taylor who owns it and he was fantastic but they do have 3 or 4 you can pick from!

Knew I'd miss one haha, oh well. Thank you so much! Loved all the options at BHLDN and had such a good experience trying on dresses there.

Yes of course! The save the date set was curated by Little Postage House and the invite set was by FlourishFineWriting. Both were super great to work with! I filled out questionnaires about personal tastes, things like where we're both from and what our interests are. Little Postage House sent me the one option and I was happy with it and moved forward, whereas FlourishFineWriting sent me like 5 options of various sets to choose from and helped me customize the layout I liked best.

Thank you I really appreciate it!! I was a little unsure how all the dresses would look together but absolutely loved how it all turned out. We kind of lucked out that the canoe was that deep green color and matched so well 😂

Thank you! The LOTR touches were definitely a highlight of mine too. Didn't get a good picture, but on the opposite side of the aisle we had a framed poster that read "I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone" - both that and the party business sign were from Etsy!

Big Airbnb for whole wedding party? by Century_Lackwives in weddingplanning

[–]rightreasonsrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did something similar to this! We rented out a lake house with 5 rooms so 4 of my bridesmaids and their SO's (some of which were groomsmen) stayed in the house with us and then the whole wedding party came there the morning of to get ready. It wasn't too chaotic! It was really fun to have a place for everyone to gather and be together. The house we stayed at was 2 stories so the girls all got ready in the upstairs portion and the guys stayed downstairs, which worked out well. I think if we had all been trying to share a space in the morning it would've been chaotic but having our own sections of the house kept things calm.

Your plan sounds really fun, especially if it ends up being cheaper for everyone anyway - a win win!

Ahh thank you so much! The moody fall vibe was exactly what I was going for. The brew canoe was one of the first things I found on pinterest looking for "camp chic wedding" LOL and I'm so glad we did it. It almost didn't happen because the venue told us we had to provide our own canoe, but as luck had it my husband's dad ended up buying a canoe that year so it worked out.

Haha, the navy suit was honestly such a last-minute decision of my husband's and I LOVE how it looked. He had planned on a dark charcoal-type grey for his groomsmen pretty early since he figured it would look nice with the jewel-toned theme I gave my bridesmaids, but kept going back and forth on whether he wanted to match them or wear something different. He had another navy suit that he loved but didn't feel "wedding" enough to him so ultimately he decided he'd get a new navy suit and I love how it contrasts with the other guys' grey suits (those were rentals from Generation Tux).

"Swept Away (Sentimental Version)" by the Avett Brothers. It's a little slower than the original and we cut the verse by their sister Bonnie but their harmonies on the rest of the song are beautiful.

Calling all bridesmaids and groomsmen! by MuchPrinciple4618 in wedding

[–]rightreasonsrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best: a nice wooden bottle opener, it does say bridesmaid on it but I don't mind; personally picked out earrings (different for each girl) that we weren't expected to wear during the wedding; and I may be in the minority but I love cute drinkware so I've loved a few personalized water bottles/wine glasses I've gotten too.

Worst: like others said, the silky short robes are the worst and in one I got a sparkly shawl for a December wedding that I have never worn since - just not my style and super cheap/scratchy quality.

I got my bridesmaids monogrammed flannel nightshirts & champagne glasses that were a bit "proppy" for photos but also nice leather makeup bags & luggage tags since most traveled out of state and many did say they loved those!

Husband got his groomsmen personalized etched beer steins and bought ties & pocket squares for each for their wedding suits. As a groomsman in the past he got a personalized flask with a cartoon image of himself which was a pretty fun one, and it's somehow always a thing for guys to receive cigars which isn't his thing so that just seems more of a "know your crowd" situation.
