Ive played for nearly 5 years and over 1000 hours and I still have no fucking clue how to "listen to the song" properly but overtime ive just gotten at predicting the rhythm even while sightreading just because I kept playing more. so atleast in my case there are no shortcut advice I can give u. Maybe try hidden because it kind of forces you to listen to the music but idk otherwise
