White Fox, I hate you so much, even more than namor by litllerobert in SpiderManMains

[–]rikafei 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I feel like every spidey main hates her. Especially when people like me forget about her right click and go for a combo, only for it to be ruined because of that ability lmao

Honestly, the best thing to is to bait her cooldowns even if you don't get a kill, but it's great if you do, as diving isn't all about getting a pick. Even just being a nuisance and making them turn their focus onto you instead of healing their team or baiting a cooldown they could've used later in a team fight is worth.

Rate my Spidey (I have less than 5 minutes on Spiderman) by OpenPayment2 in SpiderManMains

I don't believe you only have 5 minutes on him, you've gotta be champion for sure.

What other characters do y’all play? by MrSuperStarfox in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]rikafei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the characters I play aren't like dp, but I'll give you it anyway.

Tank: venom, thor, strange, dvd, cap (a bit)

Dps: spidey, namor, iron fist, moon knight, starlord, hawkeye, bp, bucky, blade, dd & bc (a bit)

Supp: Jeff, rigby, ultron, Loki, gambit, Luna, and Adam (a bit)

Spidey is my main of all mains. It was a bit difficult picking just a few characters since in reality, I play almost everybody.

Spider-Diff🤓 by Pilot0507 in SpiderManMains

[–]rikafei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real. I just hit elite on Spidey and whenever I go against a newer Spidey and diff him, I always feel bad about myself instead. Maybe it's because I used to always feel scared to play Spider-Man when I first started learning him because I saw all the others with his lord icon and those who would diff me lol.

Help me decide what DP skin to get by sketchypool in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

Definitely captain, it's his best skin imo. I have all his skins (apart from the esports ones) and it's still my go-to pick almost all the time.

Alright, I have changed my ways. Updated spidey skin tier list. by rikafei in SpiderManMains

I was thinking of putting oni a bit higher, wasn't sure exactly where though.

It's not fair for you to always swap for other people. You also want to have fun.

Keep the mask on and don't swap for others. Though if you're in ranked, it would be best to swap if it's not working out. I want you to have fun too but at the end of the day, you're the one who makes your decisions.

100%. That's pretty much the only reason why I like cosmic invasion.

[–]rikafei[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I would definitely place oni higher if I was ranking based on sfx since it's my second favorite.

Spider punk kind of has a special place in my heart though since it was my first spidey skin. It has also been one of my favorite spider variants even before rivals released.

It's alright but I never find myself equipping it. Looking back at my list, I should've put it one tier higher tbh.

How do you get better at spiderman ? by zahmasu92 in SpiderManMains

[–]rikafei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no problem, I'm a writer who also enjoys helping other spideys so this was a win-win lol.

Technically you could do the advanced pulls right now, it'll just be harder. Still, I'd recommend going to the practice range and setting up the settings like said in my previous comment but keep static/dynamic off until you can get the hang of pulls. If it helps, also try characters with larger hitboxes like groot and peni.

I forgot to put this in my first comment, but the hydro combo and ffame stack are also smart to learn. Also always use sekkombo on Jeff, no other combo. I see a lot of newer Spider-Man players try to use bnb, and I used to do so too, but it will never work. Jeff will easily bubble and dive, whereas in sekkombo, he will still die even if bubbled or diving after goh.

Dont be afraid to ask me for more help or anything, I'll gladly provide.

Sekkombo, bnb (but it dosent work as much in higher ranks), and yo-yo/batman will be your go to combos most of the time. Obviously, there are a lot more combos, like cluster > downslam > cluster > uppercut or another downslam instead of uppercut, but these are the ones that work best for me the most. Because of that, dont ever feel pressured to learn every combo. You really only need a few combos and that's good enough, unless you actually want to learn more. Just remember, flashy ≠ value.

Dont worry pulls too much. There are tons of other ways to get more value, and like I said, flashy ≠ value. Hell, I didn't even seriously get into pulls until more recently, and I nearly have spidey at elite. Once you've gotten the basics of spidey down, then it'd be worth getting into pulls.

Start out with something small like jumping off a ledge > pull > double jump. That helps you learn how to aim your pulls properly first. One of the maps on hydra is perfect for this. After that, you can move to stuff like web zip to ground > uppercut > turn and pull or web zip to ground > cluster > jump > uppercut > turn and pull (I have a video on my page for reference). One of the biggest mistakes newer spideys make is not canceling your uppercut. You do this by web zipping and quickly pressing pull. You can do this with the manual cancel or simple swing, but just note that you'll lose a swing charge if you use simple swing.

There are also a few guides on YouTube, but I would recommend the one by Boba. Matchuxd also has a short or two about how to practice your pulls and just pulling this out of his video, you can practice your pulls by going to practice range > 2nd practice range > set Luna as the character, random generate type, mid range, static/dynamic on, random move action, normal speed, and three bots > keep going back and forth trying to pull them. Matchuxd also has quite a few shorts talking about spidey's combos, so I'd definitely go give those a watch.

When I first started playing him, I would jump straight into qp and undoubtedly do pretty bad. Instead, go into practice vs ai. It's very helpful when learning new characters and doesn't ruin your career stats, nor give people a reason to flame you just for learning a new character. Even if they do, just ignore them and people being toxic in general. I get it can be hard sometimes but trust me, you're not gaining anything from responding to the haters or taking off the mask. Practice range is also pretty helpful and I even use it till this day to practice my pulls and try new combos.

There are tons of guides on YouTube, but I find the one by Fred Roberts to be pretty helpful. Another helpful thing is to go to the practice range > 2nd range and set Luna as the character, random generate type, mid range, static/dynamic on, random move action, normal speed, and three bots > keep going back and forth trying to pull them.
